This Wednesday, October 12 the seniors will be taking the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). The students will meet in the Middle School Lab at 8:15 AM to begin testing.

A representative from Southeast Technical College will be here today at @12:30 pm to talk with prospective students.

Free, online tutoring available for K-12 students. South Dakota students and families can access a new, online tutoring program, staffed by college students who are preparing to become teachers. The Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program offers FREE online tutoring to K-12 students across the state. One-on-one tutoring sessions can help students with their homework, tackle specific trouble areas, and address broader educational concepts. More information specifically for teachers will be available in coming days. Please note: In order to access the service, parents or guardians must register their students, not the school.

The Charter bus will depart at 11AM from SC, 11:15AM from Woony and 11:35AM from W. Springs.

The following students will be attending the All-State Choir Prep Day at South Dakota State University on Thursday, October 13th:

Cami Edwards, Aubrey Moody, Payton Uecker, Evan Easton, Tori Hoffman, Grant Edwards, Parker Ettswold, Miley Adams, and Temperance Salathe.
The bus will leave Woonsocket at 6:45 am and Sanborn Central at 7:00 am and will be returning at approximately 4:30 pm.  Students should bring music folders, water bottles, and money for lunch.

The Regional Cross Country Meet will take place on Thursday, October 13th.  

The bus will Woonsocket at 9:00 and pick up in Sanborn at 9:15.

The College Access Campaign has begun! This allows students to apply to most colleges in South Dakota for FREE! This campaign will go until November 30. 

The next ACT will be on Saturday, December 10. Make sure to register by November 4^th to avoid late fees!

A representative from Lake Area Technical College will be here on Tuesday October 25 @8:15 AM to talk with prospective students.

On Thursday, October 27 Tom Fridley will be coming to our school to talk with middle school students about drugs and alcohol. We have been using the "Too Good for Drugs" curriculum so far this year, which seeks to prevent teen drug and alcohol use.

Middle School Updates-Week of October 10th

Tristan Jensen, a senior at Woonsocket is conducting a volleyball camp for all Kindergarten to 6^th grade girls. The camp will be taking place on November 5th, 2022 in Woonsocket. Kindergarten- 3^rd grade will be from 8:00 am- 10:00 am. 4th grade- 6^th grade will be from 10:00 am - 12:00. The cost is $30 (includes a T-shirt). The rest of the funds will be donated.  Sign-up sheets are due back to the office by October 13th.

3rd and 4th grade boys are interested in playing basketball this year. I will gladly volunteer my time and coach these boys this year. Right now, I just want to get a number on about how many boys would be interested in playing and put together a couple games whether they are just scrimmages or contact other schools and get some games there. It is a good time to get the kids started learning the fundamentals of the game and I will be more than happy to help them do that.

If your son wants to play this year, please send me a text that includes his name, both parents’ names and phone numbers.
