Students in grades 3-8 and 11 will have their ELA and Math standardized test reports attached to their final report card.

2021 yearbook order forms are available in the office.   This year cost for a yearbook is $40.00 (without personalization) and are due back to the office by June 11th.

 Summer Program  The Sanborn Central District will be providing a month of reading and math that are planned for July 5th-29th from 9-11.  If you are interested in participating please complete the form and return to your students teacher by Monday, May 17th.

Friday and Saturday May 28th and 29th will conclude the track season with qualifiers traveling to Rapid City

State Golf will take place in Brookings June 7th and 8th.

The Sanborn Central Booster Club is looking for someone to manage the concession stand for the next school year.  This is a paid position.  Your responsibilities would include to set up workers schedule, order food as needed from Farner Bocken, place Coke order, get supplies as needed from Sam’s club (Booster Club has membership), make sure food is ready on game nights, clean up after closing on game nights.  This covers JH and HS football, basketball and volleyball home games.  There could be tournaments added or region games not originally on schedule that will require the concession stand be open also.  Every other year, there is a 5th-6th Sanborn Cancer Tourney also. If you have any interest, please reach out to Ashly Uecker or Tambi Wormstadt with any questions. This can be a split job for more than one person also.

Horizon Healthcare will be holding a Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine clinic for students 12 years and older the week of June 14th with a 2nd dose required the week of July 5th.  
If you are interested in scheduling your child for an appointment, please go to https://www.horizonhealthcare.org/vaccineclinic/ to self-schedule at the nearest Horizon clinic or vaccination site. 
A parent or guardian will need to accompany the teen to the appointment to give consent to vaccinate. We encourage any other family members that are 12 years and older to schedule their vaccination at this time.

A cure kids cancer 5K Walk/Run will take place in Letcher during Letcher Fun Day's on Saturday, June 12th to support the families who have fought or are fighting cancer.  All proceeds will be donated to Cure Kids Cancer of Sioux Falls and can be turned into the SC office by Friday, May 21st.  Check your child's backpack for forms going out to PK-6th grade today.  Extra forms are located in the office and can be found at the link below.

Tuesday, May 18th (Orange Day)

Today High school students will have open campus during times when testing is NOT taking place. Students who are on the ineligibility list with an F in any class or have missing assignments are required to be in class all day.

The end of the fourth quarter and last day of school is Wednesday, May 19th. School will conclude for the year with an 11:00 dismissal. High School/Middle School students are not required to attend on this day.  If you will not be attending and ride the bus please let your bus driver know.

Students, on Monday May 17th you will start your end of the year check out process. Your check out forms will need to be signed by all teachers listed on this years schedule. You will also stop in the library for a signature from Jolene and your final stop will be Gayle in the office.  We will need your computers and charger turned in for the summer as well.  Forms will need to be handed in with all needed staff signatures to receive a report card.

The community is welcome to attend track and field day today starting at 12:30 and going to around 3:00 at the SC football field.

Any sophomores or juniors interested in attending the HOBY leadership seminar, please contact Mrs. Foxley. The seminar will be held virtually June 10-12, 2021.

Sophomores and juniors interested in dual credits for next year, please come talk to Mrs. Foxley this week! We have to get you registered for classes before summer break.

The SCW track teams had a very successful 281 Meet. The boys were co-champions and the girls finished 2nd. The winners are listed below.

Forms will be going home with students today regarding Sanborn Central's educational Summer Program  The Sanborn Central District will be providing a month of reading and math that are planned for July 5th-29th from 9-11.  If you are interested in participating please complete the form and return to your students teacher by Monday, May 17th.

The end of the fourth quarter and last day of school is Wednesday, May 19th. School will conclude for the year with an 11:00 dismissal. Campus will generate a missing assignment report Wednesday, May 12th and eligibility is due at noon on Thursday, May 13th. Blue Day semester test will take place Monday, May 17th and orange day semester test are Tuesday, May 18th. High school students will have open campus during times when testing is NOT taking place. Students who are on the ineligibility list with an F in any class or have missing assignments are required to be in class all day.

Any sophomores or juniors interested in attending the HOBY leadership seminar, please contact Mrs. Foxley. The seminar will be held virtually June 10-12, 2021.

Sophomores and juniors interested in dual credits for next year, please come talk to Mrs. Foxley this week! We have to get you registered for classes before summer break.

The Artesian Vet clinic has many, many Styrofoam coolers of various sizes and also lots of ice packs.  If you are interested in either please stop in during normal business hours, and take as many as you would like.

A cure kids cancer 5K Walk/Run will take place in Letcher during Letcher Fun Day's on Saturday, June 12th to support the families who have fought or are fighting cancer.  All proceeds will be donated to Cure Kids Cancer of Sioux Falls and can be turned into the SC office by Friday, May 21st.  Check your child's backpack for forms going out to PK-6th grade today.  Extra forms are located in the office and can be found at the link below.

Grades 1-4 will have Declaim today.  Tune in to Santel #107 at 8:45AM to catch the action if you are not able to attend in person.  If you would like to view your child in person the public is welcome.  First grade will start at 8:45 with second, third, and forth following.

Today is the blood drive at the 4-H grounds starting at 9:00. NHS helpers that will be at the blood drive until finished: Tryce S, Cassidy S, Brighten H, Dayton E, Mason M. Malorie M will be at the 4-H building from 8:15-9:35. Hannah and Teya will help during third block. Thank you to all that are donating today.

Congratulation to Kelly Wilson who won the Central Electric Cooperative's Linework Appreciation ages 6-9 freestyle division coloring contest.

Coach Flatten has sent out the schedule for summer football activities. If your child will be in grades 7-12 in the fall and is considering playing football, make sure you email corey.flatten@k12.sd.us to get on the email chain to stay up to date.

The SC/W Girls and Boys Basketball programs will be working together selling Krispy Kreme Donuts to raise funds for a new shooting gun for the Woonsocket Gym. Order forms will be handed out to next year's 9th-12th Graders. Donut forms will be due today and Donuts will be delivered on May 16th!
Blackhawk Basketball Summer Workouts

Emily Henriksen and Kayla Olson will be offering Blackhawk Basketball Workouts this summer. Workouts will be three nights a week from May 23rd-August 1st, and they are open to 4th-8th grade girls and boys (grade as of next school year). There will also be open gyms once per week for 2nd-3rd grade girls and boys. Please have your forms and payment to the office by today. If you have any questions, please call/text (605) 999-3560.

Check your students backpacks regarding the Sanborn County 4-H Farmers Union Camp for ages 6-12.  The camp will take place May 25th for youth ages 6-12.  The camp cost is $5 and fees will be waived for Farmers Union Members-$35 for a membership.  T-Shirt, lunch, and snacks are included.  Please bring forms to the office before May 14th.  For all questions please call Pat Carsrud at 605-796-4548 or e-mail woonlib@santel.net
