Blue Day

The Junior Class will be selling Sloppy Joe meals (BBQ, Chips, and Dessert for just $5) at the double header with Corsica/Stickney on Thursday, February 1st. All proceeds will go to the Jr. Prom Fund.

SENIORS - Central Electric Scholarships are due Feb. 1st. They are the Basin Electric Cooperative and the Jay Headley Memorial. Our students have often received these scholarships in the past.

Winterguard will practice Saturday, February 3rd at SC from 8 a.m to no later than 2 p.m.

The high school vocal contest will be held on February 7th at the Kimball high school. The bus will leave Sanborn at 6:15 am and Woonsocket at 6:30 am. Students will be returning to Woonsocket at approximately 2:45 pm and to Sanborn at approximately 3:00 pm. COMMUNITY

The Woonsocket Community Library Friends of the Library Book Sale will be happening on Tuesday, February 6th, from 12:00PM-8:00PM, in the Woonsocket Commons. A variety of different books, from all genres, as well as some gently used magazines will be on display and for sale. All items may be purchased with a free will donation, and the funds raised will go toward continuing to support the Woonsocket Community Library. Thank you for your support!

We are excited to see the presentation of the One Act Play.  Please dismiss the cast and crew (Renee’, Madi, Cole, Koby, Abby, Katie, Catherine, Samantha) at 2:00 for rehearsal and set up.  Everyone else should be seated in the gym at 2:45.

The Lady Blackhawks lost to Ethan last night 30-61.  Leaders were Abby Doering  9 points and 4 rebounds; Megan Poyer 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals; Sarah Morgan 5 points; Madi Moody 2 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists; Abby Vermeulen, Erica Howard, Kaylee White - 2 points.  JV won 33-30 with Leaders:  Kaylee White 10 points; Mariah Jost 7 points; Caycee Guinn, Erica Howard 4 points; Taryn Ziebart, Katie Schmit 3 points; Abby Vermeulen 2 points

Can you believe that we are at the 100 day mark of this school year!

Ethan's Student Council and FCCLA are having a Chili Cook Off on Monday, January 29th when we have our basketball double header against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket. Save the date!!!!!!   A meeting has been scheduled to discuss potential interest for our students currently in grades 6-8, in attending a guided trip to Washington DC.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 6:30 here at school.  The organizers are bringing pizza to the meeting as well.  The dates for the scheduled trip are June 27th-July 1st 2019.  If this opportunity seems like one that you would like your student to take advantage of, and would like more information, please make plans to attend the meeting.

Good Luck to Madi Moody (Goat Tying) attending the 20X High school Showcase Rodeo in Rapid on Sunday. T his rodeo features the top three high school rodeo competitors in 10 events from all four regions of the state. Watch the state’s top high school athletes compete for scholarships, team travel funds from Farm Credit Services and the prized Maynard Trophy Buckles.

Blue Day - Tutoring

Is your calendar marked?????  A meeting has been scheduled to discuss potential interest for our students currently in grades 6-8, in attending a guided trip to Washing ton DC.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 6:30 here at school.  The organizers are bringing pizza to the meeting as well.  The dates for the scheduled trip are June 27th-July 1st 2019.  If this opportunity seems like one that you would like your student to take advantage of, and would like more information, please make plans to attend the meeting.

SCHOOL BOARD

Attention all Sanborn Central Community Members: The SC Board of Education and District Administration would like to invite any and all citizens to voice their opinions, concerns, and ideas regarding any potential upgrades to the football field complex in order to host two varsity football games a year, beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. The upgrades could include some combination of the following items: the purchase of and instillation of appropriate and adequate seating (for 500 spectators) and a large press box/concession stand/bathrooms at the field (currently there are limited concessions and portapots at the field (spectators can go into the school for concessions and use the bathrooms). The Board would like input on this potential project from the community members in order to make any decisions that would best fit the district as a whole. If any community member has an opinion, one way or the other, or has some thoughts and or ideas to express, please make plans to attend this meeting on TUESDAY, February 13th at 7:00 pm.
