JV Girls - Saturday

Forgot to mention that the JV Girls will not be going to the Hanson Tourney on Saturday, January 29th.

Girls Holiday Classic Update - 12/27/18 3:06pm

We have been informed that the Lady Blackhawks will play Faulkton at 10:00am Saturday, December 29th,  in the Holiday Classic at the Huron Arena.

At this time we have no updated information as to any changes made in the boys' schedule.  The guys are scheduled to play RC Christian at 4:00pm that day.

December 27, 2018 Update

The girls game in the Holiday Classic scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, December 28th has been cancelled/postponed at this time.  No decision has been made yet for the boys portion scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 29th.

 Don’t forget that Friday when the Blackhawks host BEE tipoff is at 4:00. It’s Jill Reimer Night (wear your Jill shirt), Booster Club Dues Night ($20), and Parent Night! It’s going to be a fun-filled night at the SC Gym! We’ve also been informed that you have the option to wear an Ugly Sweater for Parent Night.  For Jill's night we are asking for baked good donations.  All baked goods should be to the school by noon Thursday Dec 20th.  This will be a fun packed night and will be a great opportunity to purchase some goodies in time for Christmas.

January 6th-Little Blackhawk Cheerleaders mini-practice session will be held at 2:00 in Woonsocket.  January 8th they will be performing at the basketball game in Woonsocket.

There won’t be any WWTS on Dec. 26 or Jan 2nd, but will resume after Christmas break on Jan. 9th at Artesian First Lutheran from 5:30-6:45 pm.


The Artesian Community Improvement Association will be holding their annual Ham Drawing/Membership Drive on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at the Artesian Community Center. Supper will be served at 6:30pm, followed by drawings and a visit from Santa! 
Membership dues are $20 per family and go towards summer youth programs and community events.

The Artesian Community Center kitchen will be undergoing a makeover at the beginning of 2019, including new cabinets, countertops, and appliances. There are several dishes and other kitchen utensils that are no longer used. If you or your family made a donation of any items that you would like back, please contact Kaci Bechen (520-0720). Any items that are no longer used or claimed will be donated prior to the remodel.

If you have completed the required training necessary shooting Sports practice will begin on Sunday, January 6th at 2 pm and regular practice will run 2-6 each Sunday for guns & archery, and 6-9 each Tuesday for guns only. We are also working on adding 22 rifle to our discipline options (must be junior age level or older – ages 11-18).  If you are interested in more information, contact Paula Linke at plinke@santel.net or 605.350.2813.

HS Students: Semester test today...if you are failing any class you must be at school the entire day during semester testing.  You must be present for any class that a semester test is given in.  Teachers may also ask you to attend a class period even if they are not administering a semester test.  Be sure to check with all your teachers and not assume that you don't need to be here.

Good Luck to our JV & Varsity Teams as they travel to Plankinton to take on the Titans! The JV Girls tip off at 4:00 followed by the JVB, VG, and VB. Today is kids quest for grades 5th and 6th

Cheer camp is at Woony tomorrow from 10-1.  Be sure to bring a sack lunch

December 15th- the Huron Elks Hoop Shoot will be held at the Middle School Gym.  The Elks National "Hoop Shoot" contest is open to all boys and girls ages 8-13.  It is a free throw shooting competition.  There are 3 competing age groups for boys and girls ages 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 yr's old.  Contestant age groups are determined by their ages as of April 1, 2019.
-Registration will start at 10:00 AM, and the contest if free to participate in

The qualifying winners from this contest will be eligible to compete at the State Elks "Hoop Shoot" Contest, which will be held Saturday, February 2nd 2019 at the Georgia Morse Middle School in Pierre, SD.

The pairing are out for the boys and girls holiday classic Friday December 28th (girls) and Saturday December 29th(boys) in Huron. SC Rebels will be attending the O'Gorman invite Jan. 5th & SF Roosevelt State Meet on March 9th.

If you have completed the required training necessary shooting Sports practice will begin on Sunday, January 6th at 2 pm and regular practice will run 2-6 each Sunday for guns & archery, and 6-9 each Tuesday for guns only.
