Congratulations to Miss Amundson on receiving the Rising Star Award through the SDSCA. This award is recognized of a school counselor who is a newcomer to the profession, who has entered the field within the last five years, is a model for new counselors, has made outstanding contributions to the school community and profession, has demonstrated excellent rapport with students, parents and school personnel, and is a current member of the SDSCA with a master's degree and is certified by the state of SC. Miss A is the shining light in our building every day and we are proud to call her our school councilor.

There is a JH track meet in Corsica the afternoon of April 11th, so we will hold photos in the morning in Woonsocket. Below is the schedule:

The Mitchell Area Young Band Festival will take place in Mitchell on April 2nd. The bus will leave at 8:20 students should be to school by 8:00.
Please wear festival T-shirt and nice jeans with no holes for concert. If you student does not have nice jeans please wear dark pants or leggings.
Please bring instruments and binder with a pencil, water bottle, and money for supper after the concert.

Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Summer Camps applications are open
Applications are now open for incoming 7th and 8th graders to attend the Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Summer Camps. Applications are due March 31, so please help share the news with students and parents. You may find the Spread the News Promotional Toolkit useful, which includes a parent letter template and social graphics. These five-day career camps will allow students to explore exciting careers, meet professionals, and dive into hands-on activities that unleash creativity and ignite passion. Below are the camp dates and locations. Find the application form here. Each camp will accept 100 participants. As mentioned earlier, the deadline to apply is March 31. Students are expected to be notified of acceptance via email by mid-April 2024. If availability is limited at a particular site, preference will be given to students from school districts categorized as Title I or as having high absenteeism during COVID. The Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Summer Camps are a partnership of the South Dakota Board of Regents, South Dakota Technical Colleges, South Dakota businesses and industry, and the South Dakota Department of Education (DOE). The school year is quickly winding down, and we would like to sneak a few gatherings in yet. With that, the remaining Devoted Students events are planned for March 25th, April 23rd, and May 14th @ 6:00 p.m. Any 7th -12th grade students are invited to attend.
