Monday, May 3rd-(Blue Day)

Happy Teachers Appreciation Week.  We are blessed with the best at Sanborn Central, and would like to thank our teachers for going above and beyond to make every day a success for our students.  The work you do is making a lifelong difference!

As a school district, we have all worked hard to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff as we moved through this school year.  By in large, everyone cooperated and did what necessary so that we could have in-person instruction as much as possible.  There have been some bumps in the road.  However, the overall impact of the world-wide pandemic has not been as difficult to navigate here in Sanborn County as it has been in other surrounding areas and states.  A heart-felt thank you goes out to all our district patrons and community members for being flexible and willing to make accommodations to keep us moving forward. Recently, the staff at SC has been through the vaccination process, with all those who wanted to be vaccinated receiving their two rounds of shots. A huge thank you to the staff at Horizons Health Care in Woonsocket for providing us with this important preventive measure. As we reach the end of the school year, it has been a trying, yet very successful year overall. Thanks to all the students and staff for their dedication and hard work. Starting on May 3rd, for the remaining two and a half weeks of school, we are going to remove the mandatory mask mandate and move into our green level. What this means is anyone who would like to continue wearing a mask is encouraged to do so.  We are not going to require staff or students to be masked.  However, we are continuing with other measures, like constant cleaning and sanitizing of spaces and social distancing where possible.  We have been so fortunate that much of our population has been able to avoid having a difficult time dealing with COVID-19.  With any luck, we will be able to finish the year on a high note and look forward to beginning the 2021-2022 year in a more normal fashion.

The JH will be at Wessington Springs for the 281 track meet starting at 1:00 today. The bus will leave SC at 11:45.
