From Rachelle Moore: Thank you to everyone who came to
help on Saturday, made things for the bake sale, or donated to my Benefit for
Cure Kids Cancer! Throughout the day, we were able to raise over $2700!! I'm
overwhelmed with how smoothly everything went and it’s amazing how generous
people in this community are! We were able to help some kids who
desperately need it! Thanks again!
The Lady Blackhawks beat the Hanson girls at Alexandria
last night, 59-46. Leaders: Shelby Selland – 20 points, 8 rebounds; Marissa
Weber – 14 points, 3 steals; Myah Selland – 12 points, 5 rebounds; Rachelle
Moore – 6 points, 4 assists. The JV girls lost last night, 25-43. Leading the
Blackhawks were Morgan Selland with 9 points and 4 rebounds, and Ashley Schmit
with 6 points. No information was provided for the C game.
The Lady Blackhawks were defeated by Warner on Saturday
afternoon, 35-48. Leaders: Myah Selland – 14 points; Shelby Selland and Marissa
Weber – 6 rebounds each. No information was provided for the JV game.
The JH girls and boys played Wolsey/Wessington at Wolsey
on Friday night. No information was received on how the girls did. The boys put
up a hard fight, but lost 39-52. Leading the way: Trent Kingsbury - 18 points,
11 rebounds, 7 steals, 2 assists; Logun Feistner - 8 points, 3 rebounds; Trey
Weber - 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Trevor Olson - 4 points, 4 rebounds, 4
steals, 4 assists; Koby Larson - 2 points, 1 rebound; Shaun Snedeker - 2
points, 1 rebound, 1 assist; Jared Goldammer - 2 rebounds; Devon Weber – 1 rebound.
Congratulations to Logan Moody who was invited to
participate in the Extreme Showcase at the Black Hills Stock Show at the Rapid
City Civic Center this weekend. She’ll be participating in the Break Away
Roping on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Congratulations to Tryce Slykhuis who placed 1st in the youth
wrestling at Tea over the weekend.
FFA’s
Moo Machine is up and running and stocked up with healthy snacks. Take a moment
to stop by and see what's available. High School teachers have agreed to allow
Moo Machine products into their classrooms as long as there is no mess left
behind. A big thank you to Mrs. Whitney and Sanborn Central School for their
help getting the Moo Machine going!

during the games tonight. You’ll be able to place your bids until the end of
the 3rd quarter of the Varsity game. Just some of the items you’ll find are:

High School play practice: 7:30 a.m.
The Blackhawks host Hanson for boys’ basketball games tonight.
The JV boys will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity boys. The C game
has been cancelled.
Booster Club concession stand workers for tonight are
Renold and Michelle Brandenburg, Bob and Brenda Schmit, and Thad and Shawna
Baysinger.
The Junior Class will be holding a Silent Auction tonight
during the ballgames. It will run through the end of the 3rd quarter of the
Varsity game. Items may be collected and paid for any time after that.

Central
Seniors will be taking ACT NCRC (National Career
Readiness Certificate) assessments at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
The One Act Play cast and crew will be competing at 3:00
p.m. at the Huron High School Auditorium on Wednesday.

THURSDAY:
Basketball practice: Boys at Woonsocket
Eligibility and Homework Club will be calculated on
Thursday.
The Lady Blackhawks have basketball games at Wessington
Springs on Thursday. The JH girls play at 5:15 p.m., JV girls at 6:30 p.m., and
Varsity following.
Sanborn Central FFA t-shirt orders are due on Thursday (the
date has been extended from January 15 as stated on the order form). These
shirts aren’t just for FFA members. Prices start at $18.00.

FRIDAY:
Basketball practice: Girls at Woonsocket
Grade 7 will be having Guidance on Friday afternoon.
The Blackhawks have boys’ basketball games against
Wessington Springs at Woonsocket on Friday night. The JH game starts at 5:15
p.m., the JV game at 6:30 p.m., and the Varsity game around 8:00 p.m.
The pep band is scheduled to play Friday night.

SATURDAY:
The JH girls will be participating in a CBH JH Basketball
Tournament at Plankinton School on Saturday. SCW’s first game will be at 9:00
a.m. on the south court against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton.
The JV boys will be playing in a CBH JV Basketball
Tournament at Mt. Vernon on Saturday. No schedule has been received yet.

REMINDERS:
WANTED: Sanborn Central is in need of someone to organize
and supervise the spring soccer league for our students. The league is
Woonsocket, Wessington Springs, and Sanborn Central. It involves lining up
coaches for each age group and coaching/supervising all the practices and

be interested. The pay is $800 for the season.
Juniors – The Central Electric Youth Tour application
period has begun (ends March 1). To be
eligible, you must be a high school junior who permanently resides within
Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Jerauld, Sanborn, Miner, Davison, or Hanson counties of
South Dakota or the dependent of a Central Electric member. A great trip to Washington, DC at no cost to
