Blue Day

ACADEMICS
Thursday, March 23rd, we will do our first eligibility for the final quarter of school.  Please have all your work turned in prior to Thursday morning.  Teachers, please keep your grade books up to date.

The HS computer lab and Mrs. Moody's room will be closed Friday from 8:15 until 1:00 for Senior Presentations.  Please plan accordingly....

The Senior Class is preparing for the Oral History Interviews for Government.  At least one student is in need of someone to interview.  If there is a current member of the military or a veteran that is willing to be interviewed by a senior, please contact Mr. Flatten.  You can call the school 495-4183 or email him at corey.flatten@k12.sd.us  

Juniors and Seniors……..SDHP Youth Trooper applications are due March 26th.  Check it out if you think law enforcement is for you!

The South Dakota Air National Guard would like to invite the students of SC to their Career Day on: April 13th, 2017 from 5:30pm-8pm. This is a chance to get an inside look at what makes the Air National Guard a popular military option in SD.  Why consider?  How are we different than other branches? What career fields are offered? What college benefits are earned? Get ALL of your questions answered at this fun and exciting event!  For more information see Mrs. Johnson, below, or Mary.

JO VB Schedule for the week looks like this:
                    Thursday in Woonsocket 14s and 16s at 5:30, 12s at Sanborn at 5:15
                    Friday in Woonsocket 12s at 5:00

We will have our first soccer practice on Monday, March 27 starting at 5:30. We will have a parent meeting at 6:30 to pass out schedules etc. Sanborn Central will only have soccer for pre-k through 4th graders this year. If some of the older students that signed up would like to assist with practices and coaching we would love the help!  Next week we plan to have all age groups practice at SC from 5:30-6:30 on Monday and Thursday.  Dress for the weather!  If you have questions contact Roxann Larson at 770-2077 or Jeremy Uecker at 999-1875.

Woonsocket Community Theater is joyfully presenting “Nana’s Naughty Knickers” Thursday, March 23rd (as a dinner theater beginning at 5:00) and Friday March 24th at 7:00 (play only).  More information can be found at

Orange Day - TUTORING
STUDENTS – Reminder – NOTHING SHOULD BE ON THE FLOOR IN THE HALLWAYS!  STATE FIRE MARSHALL SAYS WE NEED A CLEAR WALK WAY IN THE EVENT THAT AN EVACUATION IS NEEDED!

Hats off to the SCW Band, Winterguard, and Mr. Kroeger for a wonderful concert last night!

8TH Ag will have study hall in Mr. Gross’s room with Mrs. Vermeulen today.

JO VB 14 & 16s will practice at Woonsocket at 5:30 today.  12s will practice at SC at 5:15 today.

Band Members - Wednesday the bus will leave from Sanborn Central at 8:10am.  We Warm-Up in Mitchell at 8:50am and perform at 9:20.  Be sure to bring lunch money.  We will be back by 12:30pm.  Be sure to wear your concert black attire.

The meeting will consist of verifying signups, coaching, t-shirt order form, and schedules.  We would like to include an equipment swap - please bring any old soccer cleats, shin guard, balls, etc.  If there are any questions please contact Jeremy Uecker 605-999-1875 or Roxanne Larson 605-770-2077.

Blue Day
Happy Birthday July 20th to Keaton Fridley.
The staff and students at Sanborn Central send our deepest sympathy to Cooper Goldammer with the loss of his great grandfather, Mike Schoenfelder last week.
Our sincerest condolences go out to Wanda Effling, Taylor, Logan, Zach, and Nathan with the unexpected passing of Leo this past weekend.

Combined band rehearsal today from 12:30-2:30 - There will not be band or lessons during that time.

HS track practices at Woonsocket today.

8-12 Band students – where’s your pie?????

Tonight at 6:00pm the pie and ice cream social will begin in the SC gym.  At 7:00 you will be treated to a marching band concert.  If you can’t attend tune into Santel’s channel 107! 

Musicians - wear black concert attire tonight and be ready to warm up at 6:45!

There will be a MS Staff meeting at 7:45 Tuesday morning in the board room.

Sanford Friends of Children’s Miracle Network sent a letter thanking The Lady Blackhawks for their support.  In case you hadn’t heard, during volleyball season $5000 was made to donate to Cure Kids Cancer.  Follow the link below for the full letter!  Once again we are Blackhawk Proud!

Tuesday, March 21st SC/W FFA will attend the Miller CDEs.  We will leave SC at 7:10 a.m. and Woonsocket at 7:25 a.m.   Aiden Wormstadt, Amber Schelske, Cayden Slykhuis, Chloe Ruml, Karly Krueger, Katie Schmit, Noah Dickson, Samantha Dean, Tater Moody, Abby Vermeulen, Alex Wormstadt, Austin Schmit, Cole Moody, Eric Ruml, Kyle Zoss, Madi Moody, Royce Hunter, Sawyer Senska, Catherine Bechen, Sarah Morgan, Trent Kingsbury, Garrett Dean, Trevor Olson.  Same thing applies – if you miss the SC bus you will not need to “RACE” to Woonsocket as you won’t be getting on.
