The Lady Blackhawks played Iroquois on Friday night in
the first round of the 281 Conference Girls Tournament in Wolsey and won,
64-23. Leaders: Shelby Selland – 20 points, 4 rebounds; Rachelle Moore – 9 points,
4 rebounds, 3 assists; Marissa Weber – 9 points, 5 assists, 5 steals; Morgan
Selland – 7 points, 5 rebounds. They will play JVC tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the
Huron Arena.
The Blackhawks played Sunshine Bible Academy on Saturday in
the first round of the 281 Conference Boys Tournament in Wolsey and won, 75-59.
Leaders: Tyler Krueger – 20 points, 5 assists; Nick Miller – 16 points, 9
rebounds, 5 assists; Davion Brooks – 12 points; Drew Hinker – 8 points; Todd
Stekl – 2 points, 5 assists; Tucker Kingsbury – 7 points; Brady Tiede – 6 points;
Jaedyn Ford and Joe Davis – 2 points. They will play JVC Tuesday night at 8:00
p.m. at the Huron Arena.
A school reach phone message was sent out on Saturday
notifying everyone that the girls’ game with Warner would not be played at the
Hanson Classic due to Warner's inability to get to Mitchell. If you did

In Wrestling in Huron over the weekend, Madi Moody earned
a 5th place finish and Mason Moody a 2nd place finish in their divisions.
There will be a basketball skills clinic held at the
Sanborn Central Gym on Sunday, January 20 from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. for SCW Blackhawks
boys and girls in Grades 4-8. This free clinic will be taught by Troy and Amy
Olson and will focus on basketball fundamentals. Parents are encouraged
to attend and learn teaching techniques as well. For more information

The St. Charles Parish Annual Knights of Columbus Free
Throw Contest will be held on Sunday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Sanborn Central Gym. This is open to all boys and girls ages 10-14. Age
group is determined by how old the student is on January 1, 2013. Any athlete
may participate as long as they have not shot at another parish
competition. Winners will advance on to district competition in early February. For

MONDAY, JANUARY 21:
There is no school on Monday. It is an Extra Help Day. Only
students with missing assignments and/or needing extra help will need to
attend.

High School play practice: 11:00 a.m.
The Lady Blackhawks have basketball games at Hanson
School in Alexandria on Monday evening. The C game will start at 5:15 p.m.
followed by the JV girls at 6:15 p.m., then Varsity girls.
A 4-H Project Day will be held on Monday from 1:00 – 3:00
p.m. at the 4-H Building in Forestburg. Participants (ages 5-18) will be making
a scrapbook calendar. Cost is $5.00. Pre-registration is required. For more

REMINDERS:
From Rachelle Moore: For my senior project, I am hosting
a 7th/8th Grade Girls Basketball Tournament on Saturday, January 19 starting at
10:00 a.m. All funds raised will be donated to Cure Kids Cancer out of the
Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. I am in need of volunteers to take
admission, be scorekeepers, refs, etc. There will be 4 games and a BBQ
meal. I am also looking for anybody who is interested in donating baked items
