REMINDERS:
An attempt is being made to locate a couple of extra
Letcher cookbooks for the Fred and Kathy Zoss family, who lost everything in a
house fire recently. Specifically, they would be happy to get the green Letcher
Community Club cookbook from the 1990s, and the yellow Letcher Centennial
cookbook from 1983. If you’ve got an extra that you don’t use, please contact
Sherri Stekl at stekl@santel.net.
The new Blackhawks School Song, as approved by both
school boards, is to the tune of “The Minnesota Rouser.” The new words and a
link to the tune can now be found both on www.sanborncentral.com and the Sanborn
Central mobile app.
Northern State University is waiving the application fee
during the month of November. Talk to Mrs. Whitney regarding the requirements
for this waiver and to get an application.
The Huron School Board is offering the movie
"Bully" at no cost to anyone in the Huron area (including the Sanborn
Central School District) on the following dates and times at the Logan Theatre
in Huron: Thursday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 at 12:00
noon. It is free of charge. Parents are encouraged to watch the trailer
on the website (www.thebullyproject.com)
as this is an intense movie and not designed for all children. It is
rated PG13 but parents should be aware that there are some scenes that
could be disturbing. The Huron School Board has paid for these showings
and wants to pack the theatre for both shows. Sanborn Central would like
to thank the Huron School Board for offering our students and parents this
opportunity.
