SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
The Jr. High girls’ basketball team placed first at the
Hanson Tournament in Alexandria on Saturday. In the first round, they played
Canistota and won, 32-12. They bean Hanson in the semi-finals, which placed
them into the Championship game against Ethan. The Championship game was a
battle from the start, but the Lady Blackhawks came out on top with a 32-30 win
on a last second basket by Maddie Vermeulen.
The Sanborn Central 5/6th girls and boys participated in
the Sanborn County Cancer Basketball Tournament on Saturday. The SCW teams were
divided up since there were only 3 teams in the tournament. The 5/6th girls
ended up with the 3rd and 4th place trophies, playing in an overtime. The 6th
boys got the 2nd place trophy and the 5th grade boys got the 3rd place trophy.
The 5/6th teams have now finished up their successful seasons.
A special thanks to Rachelle Moore for being a ref at the
Cancer Tournament.
