Today is Support Staff Day for National Education Week.

Congratulations to the Middle School Student of the Month
nominees for October: Band – Madi Moody, Vocal – Byron Jessen, Computer – Kayla

The South Dakota Bankers Association and the Governor’s
Office of Economic Development are sponsoring a 2013 Business Plan Competition
for high school students. Prizes include iPads and cash. The deadline for
submission of a complete business plan is December 14, 2012. Rules and entry

TODAY - WEDNESDAY:
FFA members need to turn in their fruit sales order forms
and money by today. If Mr. Gross is not at school, packets should be turned in
to Gayle.
There will be Open Gym for girls at Woonsocket after
school today.

THURSDAY:
Thursday is Teacher Day for National Education Week.
Eligibility and Homework Club will be calculated on
Thursday.
There will be Open Gym for boys at Sanborn Central after
school on Thursday.
The 7/8th boys will have basketball practice after school
at Sanborn Central on Thursday.
There will be a Winter Drumline audition practice session
on Thursday at Sanborn Central from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This practice is not
mandatory, but is set up to answer any questions students may have about the
Winter Drumline audition practice.
The State Volleyball Tournaments are on Thursday, Friday
and Saturday. Class B is being held at the Corn Palace in Mitchell; Class A is
at the Watertown Civic Arena in Watertown; and Class AA is being held at
Central High School in Rapid City.

FRIDAY:
Friday is Student Day (and Pajama Day) for National
Education Week.

MONDAY:
Girls’ basketball practice begins around the state on
Monday. The Lady Blackhawks will practice in Woonsocket on Monday.
There will be a girls’ basketball parent meeting on
Monday at 6:00 p.m. in Woonsocket. This is for all parents of girls’ basketball
players in grades 7-12.

TUESDAY:
Marching band students will be bussed over to Woonsocket
on Tuesday morning for concert practice.
Girls’ basketball practice for Tuesday has been moved to
Sanborn Central.
There will be a Marching Band Feed and Concert on Tuesday
at the Woonsocket School. A lasagna feed will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
(more information coming this week about food assignments, etc.). The indoor
marching band concert (grades 7-12) will begin at 7:00 p.m. Money raised will
be used towards the purchase of new percussion equipment.
Marching band participants will be wearing their white
band polo shirts and jeans for the performance.

REMINDERS:
Santa’s Last Stop Vendor Show will be held on Saturday,
December 1 at the Letcher Community Center and Fire Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a stop from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Send your kids to shop for family gifts with help from the Town ‘N Kountry Kids
4-H Club from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The Storla-Trinity Youth Group will have
concessions throughout the day. Vendors can contact Amanda Chada at mamchada@santel.net or 605-248-2407 to
secure a spot. The vendor fee will be $25/table and will go towards future
projects through the Letcher Community Development Foundation.
