SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
The Blackhawk Boys basketball team (High School only) will be holding a “snack” scrimmage Wednesday, December 5th at 3:45 at the Sanborn Central Gym. Fans are welcome to attend and are invited to bring packaged snack foods for ‘’admission” (optional). The snacks will be used for the boys on their bus trips to practices. This scrimmage will be an opportunity for fans to get an early look at this year’s Blackhawks before they open their season on December 8th.
From Logan Moody: I am holding a food drive at Sanborn Central for part of my Senior Project, “What Can I Do to Help,” from December 5th until December 21st. So your children are welcome to bring imperishable food items to the school to donate to the Sanborn County Food Pantry. Have your child take their item to their classroom teacher.

There will be boys’ basketball practice on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. at Woonsocket. The bus will leave Sanborn Central at 7:30 a.m.
The JH boys will be participating in a basketball tournament at Hanson School in Alexandria on Saturday. The tournament starts at 8:00 a.m. The SCW Blackhawks’ first game is at 11:00 a.m. against Canistota. Click the link below for the full schedule.

Santa’s Last Stop Vendor Show will be held on Saturday at the Letcher Community Center and Fire Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a stop from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Send your kids to shop for family gifts with help from the Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The Storla-Trinity Youth Group will have concessions throughout the day. Vendors can contact Amanda Chada at mamchada@santel.net or 605-248-2407 to secure a spot. The vendor fee will be $25/table and will go towards future projects through the Letcher Community Development Foundation.

The annual Sanborn County American Cancer Society Tour of Homes will be held in the Letcher area on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available from members of the Cancer Society or can be purchased at the Letcher Community Church on the day of the tour. Refreshments will be served in the church basement. Homes on the tour include Les and Vickie Blindauer, Clayton Kidder/Judy Hemminger, Scott and Janet Maeschen, Myron and Nancy Sonne, Ray and Diane Sundstrom, and Murray and Cindy VanLaecken. You will also be able to view the decorated Sanctuary at the Letcher Community Church. All monies raised benefit the Sanborn County American Cancer Society.
Several students will be attending the State FFA Leadership CDE (Career Development Event) in Pierre on Sunday and Monday. Student will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday for departure.

Calendar – You will see a calendar with information for your students. The bell icon indicates an attendance event and the A+ icon indicates assignments (both past and future, depending on how the teacher utilizes the portal).
To Do List – This includes assignments that have been entered by the teacher but which are not complete yet. Don’t panic as this also includes assignments that are assigned with a due date in the future. Once a grade is entered, the assignment will disappear from the list. This is a great way to remind a student that their book report is due, or that a big test is coming up.
Reports – Here you will see the student schedule, missing assignments (only those the teacher has marked missing), a transcript and a copy of the current report card.

Congratulations
to our Quiz Bowl team! Rachelle Moore,
Brittney Davis-Schacht, and Shane Nelson successfully defeated Tripp-Delmont
3-2 yesterday. One more win on December
12th and the finals are theirs!

A tournament has been added to the JH Boys Basketball
schedule. The JH CBH Conference Tourney will
be held on Feb 2nd in Plankinton starting at 9am.
Jr CYU Activities for December: Dec 2nd will be the Angel

exchanging any gifts this year, but students may bring a small amount of cash

SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
The 2012-2013 Winter Drumline auditions have been
completed and the results are in. Congratulations to Nick Miller (Section
Leader), Trent Kingsbury and Garret Dean on the snare; Trevor Olson and Kelbi
Dean on bass drum; and Byron Jessen on cymbals.
The Parent Portal was recently updated. Please check out

There will be boys’ basketball practice on Saturday
morning at 8:00 a.m. at Woonsocket.
The JH boys will be participating in a basketball
tournament at Hanson School in Alexandria on Saturday. The tournament starts at
8:00 a.m. The SCW Blackhawks’ first game is at 11:00 a.m. against Canistota.

Santa’s Last Stop Vendor Show will be held on Saturday at
the Letcher Community Center and Fire Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Santa
and Mrs. Claus will be making a stop from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Send your
kids to shop for family gifts with help from the Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club
from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The Storla-Trinity Youth Group will have concessions
throughout the day. Vendors can contact Amanda Chada at mamchada@santel.net or 605-248-2407 to
secure a spot. The vendor fee will be $25/table and will go towards future
projects through the Letcher Community Development Foundation.

SUNDAY:
The annual Sanborn County American Cancer Society Tour of
Homes will be held in the Letcher area on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tickets
are $10 and are available from members of the Cancer Society or can be
purchased at the Letcher Community Church on the day of the tour. Refreshments
will be served in the church basement. Homes on the tour include Les and Vickie
Blindauer, Clayton Kidder/Judy Hemminger, Scott and Janet Maeschen, Myron and
Nancy Sonne, Ray and Diane Sundstrom, and Murray and Cindy VanLaecken. You will
also be able to view the decorated Sanctuary at the Letcher Community Church.
All monies raised benefit the Sanborn County American Cancer Society.
Several students will be attending the State FFA
Leadership CDE (Career Development Event) in Pierre on Sunday and Monday.

Household Information – Click on this link to check the
information for your household as well as each individual. Request an update if
you see anything incorrect.
Calendar – You will see a calendar with information for
your students. The bell icon indicates an attendance event and the A+ icon
indicates assignments (both past and future, depending on how the teacher
utilizes the portal).
To Do List – This includes assignments that have been
entered by the teacher but which are not complete yet. Don’t panic as this also
includes assignments that are assigned with a due date in the future. Once a
grade is entered, the assignment will disappear from the list. This is a great
