 Today's News
As another football season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who help make game days possible at Sanborn Central! ❤️🖤

It takes a team both on and off the field, and we are so grateful for the many volunteers and staff members who give their time, energy, and dedication to our student-athletes.

👏 A BIG THANK-YOU TO OUR GAME DAY CREW!
🔗 Chain Gang: Andy Ettswold, Steve Larson, Brady Larson, Rod Vermeulen, Jeremy Uecker, and Clay Wenzel

📣 PA Announcer: Corey Flatten

A VERY SPECIAL THANK-YOU goes to Corey Flatten for the tremendous amount of time, work, and research he put into making our football field look so great this season! It was no small undertaking, and his hard work and dedication truly made a difference.

Football games don't just happen on their own! They take a village of dedicated people working behind the scenes to create a great experience for our players, families, and fans. We simply couldn't do it without you!

THANK YOU for showing up, pitching in, and supporting Sanborn Central and our student-athletes! Your time and service do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

Lunch Program News:

Follow Your Food: From Farm to Lunch Tray!
We're kicking off another week of Farm to School Month at Sanborn Central, and this week we're taking a closer look at something we probably don't think about very often — how our food actually gets to school!
When our Blackhawks come through the lunch line, their meal is ready and waiting. But have you ever stopped to think about everything that happened before that food reached their tray?
It all starts somewhere!
Some of our food begins on farms and ranches right here in South Dakota. Other foods travel from different parts of the country, and sometimes even farther!
Before reaching our kitchen, food may need to be harvested, cleaned, processed, packaged, and delivered. Once it arrives at school, our kitchen crew takes over, preparing meals for our students each day.
That's a lot of work going into one lunch!
Today's Blackhawk Challenge: Follow Your Food!
At dinner tonight, have your student pick ONE food on their plate and see if they can figure out where it came from.
Was it grown in a field? Raised on a ranch? Did it come from somewhere in South Dakota, or did it travel a long way to get to your table?
You might be surprised by what you discover!
Something to Think About...
How many different people do you think helped get that one food from where it started to your dinner plate?
Tomorrow, we're going to take a closer look at some of those people and the important jobs they do.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to complete the application and help support both your family and our school community.

Monday, November 9th - FAFSA Night at 7:00 PM in Mrs. Gassman's room
Join Mrs. L Gassman for FAFSA Night on Monday, November 9th at 7PM in Mrs. Gassman's room. Learn about what FAFSA is and how FAFSA can help provide grants, work-study, federal student loans and state & college based aid.

Reminder that all juniors and seniors have 2 excused absences for college/career exploration each year! I really encourage them to go on college tours and to go job shadowing. However, they need to be responsible and get their assignments ahead of time and have their parents/guardians call in their absence.

On January 11th and 12th we will be having internet safety presentations for grades PreK-12. These will be by each grade level, so they are age appropriate. There will also be a parent session on the evening of January 11th. More information to come later regarding this.
