An awesome job was done by the SC boys last night to move forward in the SoDac tourney. The boys will play at 5:00 on Friday, March 1st against Hanson at the Corn Palace.
The girls will fight for a Victory tomorrow at the Huron Arena vs. DeSmet at 7:30. The theme is retro...dig out those Retro Jerseys or just a plain old Jersey and show your school spirit!

The first game will be Ethan vs. Dupree at 6:00. Winners of these games will advance to the state tournament.
Region games in Huron will be streamed on the NFHS website. There is a $9.95 subscription fee to watch the broadcast. This fee is good for 30 days.
The dual pep rally will be held in Woonsocket on Thursday starting at 2:30. Students will be bused over around 2:10

Just a reminder that Legion/Auxiliary Essays (grades 3-12) and Poems (grades 3-6) are due Friday March 1st. Poppy Posters are due March 30th.
The junior class is hosting a penny war March 1st through 7th with proceeds going to their prom. All students in grades Pre-K thru 12th are invited to participate. Pennies are positive; nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars are negative. The winning class will receive a pizza party on March 11th.
Ms. Ronning will be gone for a few days. Wednesday, February 27th and Friday, March 1st the seniors in Ag Structures will have privileges - You will need to report on Tuesday, March 5th.

MUSIC
In order for Sanborn Central and Woonsocket 8-12 band students to rehearse together in preparation for Region 5 Large Group Contest, I have planned some rehearsals outside of our normal class period. For your planning purposes, below are the dates to be aware of:
Monday, March 4th – dismissed to Sanborn Central music room at 9:45, returning to class around 10:45am
Tuesday, March 19th - time TBD, rehearsal @ Woonsocket
Wednesday, March 20th – Large Group Contest, students will be gone majority of the school day

I wanted to request if you could share our ACT Prep information to students. We have a faculty lead 5 week ACT Prep Session for students to assist in prepping for the April ACT Test date. I have included the ACT Prep poster on this email that can be shared with students. I have heard some great praises from students and parents in the past, and it’s set up at a pretty decent cost.

Updated information from Miss Ronning...For those who plan on attending the Howard CDE on March 13th and Miller CDE on March 20th - Miss. Ronning needs a commitment from you by Tuesday, February 26th at 3:00 pm. IF you are unable to attend or are ineligible that week, you will need to repay the chapter registration fees for the contest. Sign up in Miss. A physical fitness course competition will take place March 10th at the Wessington Springs Practice Field starting at 1:00 PM. There are different divisions for each team. Please view the following flyer and help Chandler Flowers from Wessington Springs by participating in his Sr. project. There is a cost of $10 per player.
Food Giveaway March 6th at 5:00 until food is gone. This will take place at the Woonsocket Community Center.
