Tutoring
Good luck to our boys as they take on Elkton-Lake Benton tonight with a 7:00 tip off in Woonsocket.  Tonight’s winner will play at 5:00 on Friday, March 1st at the Corn Palace.  The girls will fight for a Victory on Thursday Feb 28th at the Huron Arena vs. DeSmet at 7:30.
The first game will be Ethan vs. Dupree at 6:00.

Today is the last day for FFA members to sign up for the Howard or Miller CDE’s.
Tomorrow  Hannah D, Brighten H, Mason M, Tryce S, Lucy N, Cassidy S, Samantha D, Noah D, Dakota K, Katie S, Jenna S, Aiden W, Renee F, Cole M, Madi M, Tory R, Adriana S, Austin S, Sawyer S, Alex W will be attending the CBH Academic Fest in Mitchell. You will be leaving here at approximately 8:00am. Please bring money for your own lunch!

This is approaching fast... Applications for teacher of the year are due by February 28th. Is there a teacher who you believe deserves to be named Teacher of the year? Forms are available in the office. 

Mrs. Johnson has Girls State applications for those interested. Deadline is February 28th.

 Just a reminder that Legion/Auxiliary Essays (grades 3-12) and Poems (grades 3-6) are due Friday March 1st. Poppy Posters are due March 30th.

 The junior class is hosting a penny war March 1st through 7th with proceeds going to their prom. All students in grades Pre-K thru 12th are invited to participate. Pennies are positive; nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars are negative. The winning class will receive a pizza party on March 11th.

 SENIORS!!!!!!  Mrs. Dawson needs senior pictures for the senior spotlight ASAP.  She is missing pictures from Royce Hunter, Kendra Morgan, Levi Nicholson, Eric Ruml, Sawyer Senska, Jayden Tucker, Alex Wormstead, and Kyle Zoss.

ACADEMICS
Spring will come and so will pre-school screening!!!  If you are unsure if we have your little ones on our list, please call the school 495-4183 or an e-mail to mary.ackman@k12.sd.us.  We are looking for any one under the age of 4, so spread the word to family and friends please!!!!

The date has been set for Pre-K Screening - May 3rd.  Letters with time slots and more information will be sent out sometime after mid-April.

SPORTS

MUSIC
In order for Sanborn Central and Woonsocket 8-12 band students to rehearse together in preparation for Region 5 Large Group Contest, I have planned some rehearsals outside of our normal class period. For your planning purposes, below are the dates to be aware of:
Monday, March 4th – dismissed to Sanborn Central music room at 9:45, returning to class around 10:45am
Tuesday, March 19th -  time TBD, rehearsal @ Woonsocket
Wednesday, March 20th – Large Group Contest, students will be gone majority of the school day

I wanted to request if you could share our ACT Prep information to students. We have a faculty lead 5 week ACT Prep Session for students to assist in prepping for the April ACT Test date. I have included the ACT Prep poster on this email that can be shared with students. I have heard some great praises from students and parents in the past, and it’s set up at a pretty decent cost.

FFA
Updated information from Miss Ronning...For those who plan on attending the Howard CDE on March 13th and Miller CDE on March 20th - Miss. Ronning needs a commitment from you by Tuesday, February 26th at 3:00 pm. IF you are unable to attend or are ineligible that week, you will need to repay the chapter registration fees for the contest. Sign up in Miss. Ronning's classroom or by e-mailing her/messaging on Remind.

COMMUNITY
