We will be making up a snow day Friday, April 26th. This was originally planned to be an extra help day.
The girls will fight for a Victory tonight at the Huron Arena vs. DeSmet at 7:30. The theme is retro...dig out those Retro Jerseys or just a plain old Jersey and show your school spirit!
The first game will be Ethan vs. Dupree at 6:00. Winners of these games will advance to the state tournament. It sounds like KOOL 98 and KORN News radio will be broadcasting the game tonight.
Region games in Huron will be streamed on the NFHS website. There is a $9.95 subscription fee to watch the broadcast. This fee is good for 30 days.
We will be attending a pep rally for both the boys and girls basketball teams today in Woonsocket at 2:30. The staff and students will be riding the bus over to Woonsocket at 2:10. Middle and Elementary students will not be attending.
Friday the SC boys will take on Hanson at the Corn Palace at 5:00 pm at the Corn Palace.

The junior class is hosting a penny war March 1st through 7th with proceeds going to their prom. All students in grades Pre-K thru 12th are invited to participate. Pennies are positive; nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars are negative. The winning class will receive a pizza party on March 11th.
Ms. Ronning will be gone for a few days. Wednesday, February 27th and Friday, March 1st the seniors in Ag Structures will have privileges - You will need to report on Tuesday, March 5th.

SPORTS
The SC Rebel Powerlifting team will be taking 6 entries to the State Powerlifting Meet at SF Roosevelt Saturday, March 9th: Eric Ruml, Kendra Morgan, Aiden Wormstadt, Noah Wormstadt, Brighten Hitchcock, & Mason Moody. Alex Wormstadt will be coming as a Student Coach. Competition begins at 9:00 A.M. Bus will leave SC at 5:30 A.M. the day of the meet.

In order for Sanborn Central and Woonsocket 8-12 band students to rehearse together in preparation for Region 5 Large Group Contest, I have planned some rehearsals outside of our normal class period. For your planning purposes, below are the dates to be aware of:

Tuesday, March 19th - time TBD, rehearsal @ Woonsocket

I wanted to request if you could share our ACT Prep information to students. We have a faculty lead 5 week ACT Prep Session for students to assist in prepping for the April ACT Test date. I have included the ACT Prep poster on this email that can be shared with students. I have heard some great praises from students and parents in the past, and it’s set up at a pretty decent cost.

Updated information from Miss Ronning...For those who plan on attending the Howard CDE on March 13th and Miller CDE on March 20th - Miss. Ronning needs a commitment from you by Tuesday, February 26th at 3:00 pm. IF you are unable to attend or are ineligible that week, you will need to repay the chapter registration fees for the contest. Sign up in Miss. Chandler Flowers, a senior from Springs is setting up a physical fitness course that law enforcement must complete to be eligible for employment, but instead of just setting it up and letting people do it, it’s being run like a competition. There will be teams of 3 with each person competing in one of the three different areas. In the course there are strength, agility, and running portions. Five different divisions – male grades 5-8, female grades 5-8, male high school, female high school, and adult. There is a $10/person fee to cover expenses and to donate to the Officer Down Memorial. The tournament is scheduled for March 10th Registration forms are available in the office.
Food Giveaway March 6th at 5:00 until food is gone. This will take place at the Woonsocket Community Center.
