Thursday, February 10th-Blue Day

The JH girls basketball team will be playing at Highmore at 3:00PM this Friday before the JV games start.   
They will depart with a mini bus from SC at 1:00PM and Woony at 1:15PM
NOTE: The charter bus will still leave from SC at 1:45PM and Woony at 2:00PM

Today we will run eligibility.

If you have last minute bussing changes the bus drivers ask that you call the bus line at 605-495-4186.
This line rings directly into the busses and you are able to talk to your driver.  As always please try to plan ahead with your child's bussing by providing consistency to their bus schedule.

FFA Week will take place February 22-25th with dress up days and events.
Tuesday, February 22nd-Merica day-find an emblem, and answer a trivia question to win a treat.
Wednesday, February 23rd-Hunting day-FFA officers will be teaching the kids about FFA
Thursday, February 24th-Redneck day-Donuts for $1 (before school starts)

Extra Curricular
Come hungry to Friday's game at Highmore.  The summer rec. program will be having a walking taco supper as a free will donation.

A combined instrumental and ensemble contest is scheduled for February 16th at the Chamberlain HS.  Attached is the student names and performance times.  The bus will load SC at 7:00 and return at 4:30.

The Sanborn Central Community will be raising money at the basketball games on Monday, February 14th in support of Jalyn.  All proceeds from the following will be donated to the Bender family.  We hope to see you there.

Dean of Students Announcement

The South Dakota State DAR Scholarship for Military Descendants is due Saturday, February 12. In order to apply for this scholarship, the student must be a high school senior in SD who plans to attend an instituition of higher learning and MUST be a child or grandchild of a United States Military Veteran.

ACT Prep Sessions:
Preparing for the ACT can be tough. Make it easy with DSU's 5 week long ACT Prep Course. These sessions will help you become more comfortable with the ACT test format, improve important test-taking strategies, and learn test content subject matter from faculty who specialize in the test material.

Scrubs Camp:
There will be a scrubs camp in Huron, SD on March 22, 2022. This camp is from 8:30-3:00 pm. Ms. Amundson has the registration forms for students who are interested in attending. Forms are due by March, 15, 2022.

Girls State & Boys State:
Ms. Amundson talked with the junior boys and girls, as well as the senior boys about Girls State and Boys State.  For Girls State, only juniors are able to apply. For Boys State, junior and senior boys are able to apply. For Girls State, the applications are due on Tuesday, March 1st. For Boys State, the applications are due on May 1st. Please let Ms. Amundson know if you have any questions about this opportunity.

Wednesday, February 23rd from 2-3 Reed Senska will be presenting her Senior project in the SC Gym.  Come and see the work the students have put in over the past couple of months, and enjoy the fun.


Iroquois will be hosting a 3 on 3 basketball tournament Saturday, March 26th for anyone interested.  Entry fee is $40 per team and the deadline to enter is Monday, March 21st.

The Sanborn County 4-H Building in Forestburg has served the area well for many years, supporting 4-H as well as many community events. We are in exciting times as both growth in 4-H and needs from the school and community are demanding more space for activities.  Please support a great cause in our community and consider donating to this project.
