Jalyn's Cheer Team Updates
02/11/2022
Jalyn started running high fevers through the night, this morning, and again this evening. Fortunately they switched her antibiotics from vancomycin and maxipine to rocephin which means we can give ibuprofen in addition to the tylenol to knock her temp back to normal.
They clamped the EVD this morning and her ICP stayed in normal range until this evening. She started leaking from the EVD site and her pressure went up. They decided to unclamp the EVD to let the excess pressure drain, which almost immediately made her appear that she felt better and her vitals returned to stable. She is having an MRI now to see if they can find what is causing the increased pressure and make sure there is nothing visible that may be causing the fevers.
Please pray for her comfort, as well as guidance to help send us on the final road to recovery. Thank you for the ongoing prayers, love, and support!

ACT Prep Sessions:
Preparing for the ACT can be tough. Make it easy with DSU's 5 week long ACT Prep Course. These sessions will help you become more comfortable with the ACT test format, improve important test-taking strategies, and learn test content subject matter from faculty who specialize in the test material.

Scrubs Camp:
There will be a scrubs camp in Huron, SD on March 22, 2022. This camp is from 8:30-3:00 pm. Ms. Amundson has the registration forms for students who are interested in attending. Forms are due by March, 15, 2022.
Girls State & Boys State:
Ms. Amundson talked with the junior boys and girls, as well as the senior boys about Girls State and Boys State. For Girls State, only juniors are able to apply. For Boys State, junior and senior boys are able to apply. For Girls State, the applications are due on Tuesday, March 1st. For Boys State, the applications are due on May 1st. Please let Ms. Amundson know if you have any questions about this opportunity.

Wednesday, February 23rd from 2-3 Reed Senska will be presenting her Senior project in the SC Gym. Come and see the work the students have put in over the past couple of months, and enjoy the fun.
Iroquois will be hosting a 3 on 3 basketball tournament Saturday, March 26th for anyone interested. Entry fee is $40 per team and the deadline to enter is Monday, March 21st.
Grades 3-9 are invited to partake in a spring basketball tourney April 9th. Cost is $100 per team with a three game guarantee. If you are interested please e-mail josh.davies@k12.sd.us
The Sanborn County 4-H Building in Forestburg has served the area well for many years, supporting 4-H as well as many community events. We are in exciting times as both growth in 4-H and needs from the school and community are demanding more space for activities.
