Blue Day

Today our American Education Week Committee is honoring our parents and community members.  The Sanborn Central School District is blessed to have the community and parental support that we have.  People are always stepping up to support our district in whatever we need - regardless if it’s buying fruit from an FFA member, purchasing Booster Club items, pulling a bus out of the snow, or taking the time to read to our littlest ones.  The old saying that it takes a village to raise a child is very true and we thank each of you!

Thank you to all the parents and community members that took time this morning to have breakfast and walk with a student.   We appreciate your involvement.

Basketball season is just around the corner and our web site is full of information – from games to practice schedules even when the pep band plays. We try our best to keep the information up to date for everyone. There are several different ways to find what you are looking for. Go to our web site – www.sanborncentral.com
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on documents (left hand side), Athletics, Basketball. There you will see several folders – Boys (JH/HS), Girls (JH/HS), Little Blackhawks (5/6th grade), and Non-School Sponsored. There is also a complete JH/HS Basketball Schedule at the bottom of the page.
Currently you will find the 3/4th girls schedule in the Non-School Sponsored folder.

If you are looking for events on a given day - go to the events section(toward the bottom of the page) and then select the red “See All” button just above the current events. Scroll to your day and there it is – do remember that each box has just one event so be sure you look through the whole day.
You can also choose to view events in the Google Calendar – Left hand side by the pictures (about 1/3 of the way down).

Stop Violence- Be informed, Be prepared!
Every day we read of scary situations around the country (attempted kidnappings, assaults, etc) and some of these are hitting close to home. As part of my senior project I, Katie Schmit, wanted to do something to help keep safe the people in our schools and communities. Help protect yourself and your loved ones by attending an informational and demonstrational presentation. This will be presented to middle school and high school students on Monday, November 25 at 12:30 pm at the Woonsocket High School and 2 pm at Sanborn Central High School. The presentation will include information on violent crimes, sexting, and demonstrations on how to protect yourself. Presenters will include Sanborn County Sheriff Tom Fridley, Detective Toby Russell from the Mitchell Police Department, and Bobbi Aulne with Damsel in Distress. If you do not wish your child to attend, please contact the school. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Along with the presentations, you will be able to order self-defense/ safety products from Damsel in Defense. Proceeds from these orders will be donated to the Mitchell Area Safe House.
