Good Luck to the JH basketball teams as they travel to Iroquois today.  The bus will leave SC at 4:30.  Players needing to stay until the bus leaves will need to report to the commons.  Girls are scheduled for a 6:00 tip off.

HSG are at Woonsocket today and Boys at SC.    Winterguard will practice at SC today.

5^th and 6^th GBB practice tonight 6 to 7:30 at Woonsocket.

Stats from Saturday’s games with Wolsey/Wessington (Sorry no guys again): Varsity Gals Girls won 44-to 37. Leaders: Megan Poyer 13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 4 steals; Abby Doering 10 points and 3 rebounds; Madi Moody 7 points; Tristan Ziebart 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals; Sarah Morgan 4 points and 3 rebounds; Kaylee White 2 points; Tesa Jensen 2 points and 3 rebounds. JV Girls won 41-19 with the leaders being: Erica Howard 8 points; Taryn Ziebart 6 points; Taylor Lindsey 5 points; Abby Vermeulen and Caycee Guinn 4 points; Kaylee White and Morgan Schmeidt 3 points; Samantha Dean, Ellie Voneye, Katie Schmit, and Tesa Jensen 2 points.

Alex W and Austin S will be attending the SD Bankers Foundation Business Plan to present their project on Wednesday.

What are you doing on Thursday, February 8^th?  Join Mr. Siemsen for pizza and discuss potential interest for our students currently in grades 6-8, in attending a guided trip to Washington DC.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 6:30 here at school.  The dates for the scheduled trip are June 27th-July 1st 2019.  If this opportunity seems like one that you would like your student to take advantage of, and would like more information, please make plans to attend the meeting.

Winterguard will be using the SC gym from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday, February 9^th.

ATHLETICS

Are you interested in playing baseball this spring? Wessington Springs has invited SC and Woonsocket players to join them during the spring baseball season!!! If you are in grades 7 to 12 (this year) and love the game, contact Coach Nathan Hainey at nathan.hainy@k12.sd.us as soon as possible.

The pairings for the DWU Classic on Saturday – February 10th have been announced. Blackhawk guys will play Canistota at 7:00pm at the Corn Palace.

FFA

FFA Proficiency Applicants: Talk to Mr. Gross ASAP so he knows you are applying.  Must be completed, by Feb. 9^th.

MUSIC

Assignment Sheets needed for vocalist going to Kimball on Wednesday (2/7). The bus will leave Sanborn at 6:15 am and Woonsocket at 6:30 am. Students will be returning to Woonsocket at approximately 2:45 pm and to Sanborn at approximately 3:00 pm. The Woonsocket Community Library Friends of the Library Book Sale will be happening on Tuesday, February 6th, from 12:00PM-8:00PM, in the Woonsocket Commons. A variety of different books, from all genres, as well as some gently used magazines will be on display and for sale. All items may be purchased with a free will donation, and the funds raised will go toward continuing to support the Woonsocket Community Library. Thank you for your support!
