SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
No school today at Sanborn Central due to problems with
the heating system.
According to Mrs. Whitney, today’s missed day will not
have to be made up, but if we miss another day it will be made up on Friday,
April 19, which is a scheduled Extra Help Day. School will be held on Extra
Help Days first for make-up days.
Congratulations to the Lady Blawkhawks on their 5th place
finish at the Girls’ State B Basketball Tournament over the weekend! They
finished the season with a record of 24-2.
After losing to Sully Buttes on Thursday, they beat
Timber Lake on Friday, 73-45. Stats: Rachelle Moore – 9 points, 9 rebounds, 1
steal, 4 assists; Morgan Larson – 1 assist; Bailey Moody – 2 points, 1 rebound;

Congratulations to the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket
cheerleaders on being selected for the Spirit of Six award. They did a great
job representing Sanborn Central/Woonsocket.
A huge thank-you goes out to the Sanborn Central and
Woonsocket booster and spirit clubs for their work in hosting the hospitality
rooms at the Huron Arena over the weekend, and for all they did for the team.

Congratulations to Rachelle Moore for being selected to
participate in the Southeast All-Star game in Tea on Sunday, March 24 and the 3
Class Shootout in Salem on Saturday, March 30.

TODAY - MONDAY:
Students are still attending the District Soil
Conservation Speech Contest today at 1:00 p.m. in Woonsocket.
There will be a football meeting today at 4:00 p.m. at
the Woonsocket School. The meeting will take about 2 hours. All of next year’s
high school players for next year are asked to attend. That would be current
8th – 11th grade football players. There will be a speaker from the National
Guard there to discuss commitment and goal setting.
The School Board will have their March meeting tonight at
7:00 p.m.

TUESDAY:
FFA students will be attending a CDE in DeSmet on Tuesday.
The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. or as soon as the Woonsocket bus gets there.
Students need to remember to have pencils, clipboards if they have them, calculators
(Ag Mech, Agronomy, Ag Business Management), and scissors (Floriculture). Horse
and Livestock judgers need to be sure to bundle up as they will be outside and
it will be cold.
There is a Frosh/Sophomore Boys Basketball tournament on
Tuesday at McCook Central School in Salem. The MCM boys will play Sanborn
Central/Woonsocket at 4:20 p.m. followed by Sioux Valley vs. Parkson at 5:20
p.m. The losers of the first two games will play for 3rd place at 6:45 p.m. and
the winners will play for the championship at 7:45 p.m. Concessions will be
served.
The tournament will take place of the Willie Mac practice
that was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

There will be Smarter Balance testing on Wednesday for
Grades 7 and 8.

Thursday will be a Senior Experience Project work day.
The High School honor roll assembly will be held on

information. Some patrons have reported missing and aborted calls. There are
now a couple of new ways to see if you’ve missed a SchoolReach call. The first
is a new SchoolReach app for your mobile device. The second is a toll-free
number you can call to hear the most recent message sent out, or all the
messages in the last 30 days. Both of these will only work for those on the
