Bountiful Baskets in Letcher on Saturday

Letcher's first distribution of Bountiful Baskets will take place this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Letcher Community Center.

Basically, this is a food coop that will be delivering baskets of fresh fruits and vegetables every two weeks to the Letcher Community Center. The main basket each time will be what they have available, but you will also be able to add other things on, like bread, that will change each time. This week, for example, they are offering Easter egg-shaped cookies with frosting that you can decorate yourself, strawberries, and several types of bread baskets as well as some other goodies. The main basket will always cost $15.00 (plus a $3.00 charge for the first time) and the add-ons will be additional as you choose.

Everyone who gets this message is invited to register and sign up to purchase a Bountiful Basket. You do not have to be from Letcher. You must, however, be able to pick up your basket on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m., or make arrangements with a friend to pick it up for you. Registering with the site (which is free) does not obligate you to purchase a basket each time they come through Letcher.

The deadline for pre-ordering your Bountiful Basket for this Saturday is tomorrow (Tuesday, March 26) at 8:00 p.m. There are a limited number of baskets available each time, so if you're interested, please go to the site, register (or log-in if you're already registered), click on Participate Now, choose South Dakota as your state and Letcher as your distribution city, and get your basket pre-ordered as soon as you can.

The Letcher site coordinators are David and Christie Ruml. You may contact them for further information.

Register and learn more at www.bountifulbaskets.org. They have a great FAQ section to answer any questions you may have.

Also, remember to bring something with you on Saturday to haul your goodies home in.
