SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
Sanborn Central welcomes Michelle Moeding to the school.
Ms. Moeding will be student teaching under Mr. Danek this spring.
Congratulations to last week’s high school vocal contest
participants. Ms. Senska was very pleased by the results and the effort put
forth. A new scoring system was experienced. Receiving medals were the Girls
Ensemble (April, Tamra, Tristen, Jessica, Ashley, Morgan and Amberiah) and
Tamra Mann with her solo. Unfortunately, with the new scoring system Ashley as
just one point shy of receiving her medal.
The Lady Blackhawks played basketball at James Valley
Christian in Huron last night.
Congratulations to Shelby Selland on scoring her 1000th
career point! The Varsity girls won, 84-43. Leaders: Marissa Weber – 19 points,
5 rebounds; Myah Selland – 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists; Rachelle Moore –
14 points, 6 assists, 4 steals; Shelby Selland – 12 points, 5 rebounds; Candace
Page- Marten – 6 points, 6 assists, 4 steals; Rachel Selland – 6 points, Ashley
Schmit – 6 points.
The JV Lady Blackhawks defeated James Valley Christian
38-26. Leading the way for the Blackhawks was Myah Selland with 10 points, 4
rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Ashley Schmit and Savannah Swenson each added
8 points and collected 4 rebounds. Tayla Weber added 4 points and grabbed 6
boards. The Blackhawk JV girls finished their season with a record of 16-3 and
outscored their opponents 720 to 388 for the year. Coach Dean would like to say
thank you to all the girls for all their hard work throughout the year and
their commitment to the basketball team. A special thank you goes out to
the parents for allowing your daughters to play. It’s a time commitment and we
as coaches know it. We can all be proud of our Blackhawk girls and we can’t
wait for next year already! Go Blackhawks!
No information was received on the outcome of the JH
game.
From Coach McCain: Last Friday at our home
basketball game we recognized Candace Page-Marten, Rachelle Moore, Morgan
