Wessington Springs is exploring the possibility of starting a youth football program in conjunction with its coop partner schools Woonsocket and Sanborn Central. To get started they need to determine how much interest there would be in such a program. With enough interest this youth program would take place in Wessington Springs beginning in August 2013. This opportunity is for students in grades 3-6 for the 2013-14 school year. Note that this program is not a school sponsored activity, so there will be a small fee for participating to offset equipment upkeep. If interested, parents and athletes are asked to attend a youth football meeting on Monday, February 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons area of the Woonsocket School. If a parent cannot attend but their child is interested in playing, please contact Nathan Hainy at 605-339-1432 or nathan.hainy@k12.sd.us.
