When you have a moment to squeeze your babies tight and let them know they are loved; do so! Prayers warriors are needed for a very adorable 2nd grader at Sanborn Central, Jalyn Bender. As some of you may know she has been experiencing headaches and vomiting, and a recent CT scan showed a mass on the base of her brain that was obstructing spinal fluid from flowing properly, in turn causing her symptoms and hydrocephalus. She was admitted to the Sanford Children’s Castle for further imaging and taken to surgery to excise the tumor. Surgery went as well, and the vast majority of the tumor was removed. Additional treatment will most likely be needed to fully remove any “bad” cells that remain. She is one tough cookie-we know she’s got this!
A school-wide Penny War will start on January 24th and end on January 28th. Grade level containers will be located in the office. Proceeds will go to the Bender family to assist with medical expenses. The winning group will receive a doughnut and juice party.

7th and 8th B-Ball Tournament
The Parkston Girls Basketball team is hosting a youth basketball tournament for grades 3rd-6th on Sunday, February 13th at the Parkston High School. Registration and fee's are due by February 1st.
The JVC girls and boys BB DH will be held on Monday, Feb. 14 at Sanborn Central starting with the girls JV at 4PM. The JVC JH girls and boys games will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Sanborn Central starting at 6PM with the girls game.
