Tuesday, November 9th (Blue Day)

Today's announcements
Reminder, this Friday November 12th will be a no school day.  Eligibility will run on Thursday, the 11th.

Today the 5/6th boys and girls basketball teams will take on Iroquois.  The girls will take the court at 6:00 followed by the boys at 7:00.  We need volunteers tomorrow for 5-6th grade BB game in the concession stand!!

Tomorrow the Middle School Student Council will have a meeting at 11:35 in the MS Lab.

Junior High Festival times (November 16th):
From Sanborn Central: Load at 6:15 am. Depart at 6:20 am.
From Woonsocket: Load at 6:35 am. Depart at 6:40 am.
Return approximately 5:00 pm.
Students should come dressed for the concert.

High School Festival times (November 23):
From Sanborn Central: Load at 6:15 am. Depart at 6:20 am.
From Woonsocket: Load at 6:35 am. Depart at 6:40 am.
Return approximately 10:00 pm.

Continuing on in our post-season Oral Interp.are Sidney Salas (serious), Morgan Hoffman (non-original oratory), and Shania Cornelius, Dana Schelske, and Isabella Bitterman (readers theatre). Their next competition is Regions on November 16 in Mitchell.

Students may come dressed for the concert or change before the concert into concert attire.

Upcoming Announcements
Join us in honoring our veterans at a special Veterans Day Program on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 9:00 AM in the Sanborn Central gym. 

Student Council would like to invite any local veterans to please join us for this program. If you have any questions, please contact the school.  

The Dakota players Children's Theatre is back again presenting "The Missing Mountain Mystery."  Sanborn Central School District will hold auditions for the original Musical production on November 15th from 3:30-5:00.  All students in grades K-8 are eligible to audition.  No experience or advanced preparation is needed.  Five days of intensive rehearsals (3:30-5:30 and 6:00-8:00) will be held in which lines, staging, songs and even dances will be learned, culminating in an out-of-this-world performance on Saturday, November 20th.  Cast members called for both rehearsal sessions are asking to bring a sack lunch/dinner for the break.  Not all children will be called for every rehearsal.  The Dakota Players have required all student to WEAR MASKS during the audition and rehearsals.  Their actors are constantly traveling and need to take safety precautions.

2021 Hanson JH Girls Basketball Tourney Saturday, November 13th.

Girls will have open gym on the following dates after school until 5:00
Nov. 11 at Woonsocket
Nov. 16 at Woonsocket
Nov. 18 at Woonsocket
See attachment on updated bb schedules.  We added JH girls practice on Dec. 10 and the JH girls and boys tourney at Springs was moved from Feb. 12 to the 19th.

The FB team is having the Blackhawk Football Awards Banquet on Monday, November 15th in the Woonsocket gym at 6:30pm. We will be having a potluck style feast for the athletes and families.

We will celebrate the athletic achievements of JH & HS players on the fall season. Team awards and additional awards will be handed out.

Please bring the following foods based on your athlete(s) grade. If you have more than one athlete, just choose the oldest athletes category. Coaches will supply plasticware & plates.

HRMC Health Care Roles
On Tuesday, November 9th Teresa Haatvedt, who is a healthcare workforce recruiter from the Huron Regional Medical Center, will be here to talk to any junior or senior students who would like to learn more about different health care roles, job shadowing opportunities, scrubs camps, health care scholarships, and internship opportunities. This will take place at 11:55 pm.
She will also be presenting a lesson about different health care roles to 7th and 8th grade guidance classes during Miss Amundson's guidance class this week, following her presentation with the high school students.
