Thank You to the Artesian and Letcher Fire Departments for bringing your trucks to the school today and sharing your knowledge of fire safety with our grade school. October 3rd-9th is fire prevention week. The goal is to raise fire safety awareness, and help ensure your home and family are protected.
Extra help day is Friday, October 8th. Parents of students with missing assignments or failing grades will be notified the afternoon of Thursday, October 7th that the student will need to be in attendance from 8:00-11:00am on Friday. Elementary parents, please contact your students teacher if you have questions regarding your child needing to attend. Students will be given a list of missing assignments the afternoon of Wednesday, October 6th. The list will be updated on Thursday afternoon prior to calls being made.
Parents and students, please take advantage of our tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15-5:15. The cost is $3 per hour. Contact Laura at 605-495-4183 if you would like your student added to the list.

Last call for cookie dough if anyone would be interested in purchasing a box. The cost is $22 a box and we have the following: 1 box of Chocolate Chip, 3 boxes of Peanut Butter, 8 boxes of Snickerdoodle, 3 boxes of Oatmeal Raisin and 4 boxes of Candy Delight. Athletes should ride the bus to Rapid City. I understand that quite a few families are staying for the weekend in the Hills and want their sons to stay on Saturday, that is fine, just make sure to communicate with the coaches so we have an accurate count on the way back. It sounds like RCC is feeding us after the game but having your child bring some spending money isn't a bad idea.

Bring music folders, water bottles, and money for lunch. Lunch at Armour will be on site for $5.00. Please give $5.00 to Mrs. Easton asap.
Monday Oct. 11th: JH & JV FB team will finish the season in Mt. Vernon vs MVP. Both games take place at 4:30 pm. They will utilize both fields for the games.
In celebration of National School Lunch Week (October 11th-15th) next week will be filled with fun activities and contests. Get your animal print, and safari gear ready, as Friday will be the finale with a dress up day themed "Safari."

Shake out those couch cushions-the Sanborn Central will be hosting a Penny War Fundraiser the week of October 11th with all proceeds going to Gary Willman. Each grade and team, including staff will have a collection bag located in the office. Gain points by adding pennies to your grade level's bag. Lower other grades' totals by adding silver coins and bills to their bag.
