Monday-August 30th (Orange Day)

The boys left it all out on the field Friday night versus a good Sioux Valley team. We hope to bounce back this week as we travel to Miller Friday.
Football schedule for the week:
Monday: JH & JV take on BEE in Wessington Springs. JH game at 4:30 with JV starting after at roughly 6:00. We will be wearing black jerseys. SC & Woonsocket will be traveling over immediately after school.  HS will watch film, lift, & practice beginning at 4:00. JV players will be involved with varsity practice prior to their game.
Tuesday: JH & HS practice in Woony from 4-6 pm. Full pads
Wednesday: JH & HS practice in Woony from 4-6 pm. Full pads.
Thursday: HS practice at Woony at 8-10 AM (This is different than on schedule with no school) NO JH practice. Bus leaves at 7:30 AM from Springs and SC.
Friday: Varsity game vs Miller/Highmore-Harrold in Miller at 7PM. SC & Woony will drive mini-bus to Springs. SC leaves at 4:00 & Woony leaves at 4:10. Big bus leaves Springs at 4:30.

Any juniors interested in determining the fall fundraiser for prom, stop into Ms. Farrell-Poncelet's room Tuesday morning at 8. Materials chosen will be handed out to the entire class at a later time.

Activity passes are available through the school.

2021 Blackhawk Volleyball Schedule-With some leave times.

A junior high volleyball game is scheduled with Mt. Vernon/Plankinton on Oct. 4 at Woonsocket with a 4:30 start.  We will be playing either 3 or 4 matches as MVP has 26 girls and would like them to get some playing time.

The junior high volleyball girls are scheduled to be in Woonsocket that day.

ACT:

The next ACT test is October 23, 2021. The deadline to register is September 19, 2021 and must be done online. The closest testing locations are Mitchell and Huron.

Juniors, seniors, and parents - if you have any issues registering for the ACT, please email me or stop by my office.

Juniors - ASVAB:

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6 at 8:15 am in the middle school lab. All juniors are required to take this test and should come with their chromebooks fully charged. This test provides career information and determines whether you are qualified to join the military service. The ASVAB does not count towards a class grade. For more questions regarding this exam, please contact me.
