SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
From Mr. Gross: The Sanborn Central FFA Chapter Junior
Parliamentary Procedure team and Senior Parliamentary Procedure team both
attended State Leadership this past weekend. Both these groups have put a lot
of hard work into learning how to properly make and handle motions, demonstrate
effective debate, and think on their feet during the meeting. Despite our hard
work, the teams were not able to place in the top 5, which are the teams that
are announced. Judging from the score cards, there was definite growth between
Districts and State. I'm very proud of how both teams performed. Many other ag
teachers commented on how impressed they were with our students. I'm looking
forward to working with them as we look forward to Spring (production) Career
Development Events.
Any high school students interested in being in the one
act play should see Mrs. Danek this week.
The Relay for
Life of Jerauld/Sanborn Counties will be raffling off two great gifts to help
raise funds for the Relay for Life. They are raffling a soft fleece blanket and
a coffee tumbler, both with the Relay for Life logo on them. There will be two
drawings, one for each prize. Tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Tickets
are available at the Sanborn Central School office or by contacting Alec
Schmidt at 605-412-6212 (text or call) or at SCHS. Drawings will be held on
Monday, December 17 at the SC/W Varsity girls and boys basketball games. You do
not have to be present to win. To see the full flyer and pictures of the raffle

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations,
compounded by December’s bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are
people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are
worth the same.
