Reminder: This is the last week for Food Pantry
donations. This project is being organized by Logan Moody for her Senior

The Juniors will be auctioning the 2 front parking spots
at half-time of the Boys’ Varsity game tonight, as well as selling Christmas
plates of goodies for $5 each throughout the evening until they are gone. Merry
Christmas to all from the Junior Class!
The JV and Varsity Blackhawks had games against
Tripp/Delmont/Armour (TDA) on Thursday night.
The JV girls won, 43-18. Leaders: Myah Selland – 13 points,
8 rebounds, 3 assists; Morgan Selland – 7 points; Tayla Weber – 7 points, 4
steals; Ashley Schmit – 6 points; Kelbi Dean – 4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals;
Bailey Moody – 2 points; Amberiah Smith – 2 points; Maddie Vermeulen – 2 points.
The JV boys won, 65-8. Leading scorers: Dillon Moore –
11, Rex Schlicht – 10, Josh Feiner – 9, Cole Wormstadt – 8, Joe Davis – 7,
Brady Tiede – 6, Jastyn Ford 6.
The Varsity girls won, 82-39. Leaders: Shelby Selland –
21 points, 6 rebounds; Rachelle Moore – 16 points, 4 assists; Marissa Weber – 6
points, 7 assists; Candace Page-Marten – 9 points, 4 steals; Morgan Selland – 9
points, Myah Selland – 9 points.
The Varsity boys won, 58-35. Scoring: Nick Miller – 18;
Todd Stekl – 13; Davion Brooks – 10; Tyler Krueger – 6; Drew Hinker – 4, Tucker
Kingsbury – 3, Jaedyn Ford – 2, Jarid Bechen – 2. Leading rebounds: Nick – 10.
Leading steals: Drew, Tyler and Nick with 2 each. The Blackhawks were 13/19 on
free throws (68%) and 21/54 on field goals (39%).
The JV boys played in the McCook Montrose (MCM) Basketball
Jamboree on Saturday in Salem. They won the first game against MCM White,
39-25. Leading scorers: Dillon Moore 10, Cole Wormstadt 8, Joe Davis 8. They
beat Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, 37-25. Leading scorers: Dillon Moore 9, Brady Tiede
8, Jarid Bechen 6. They lost to MCM Green, 22-24. Leading scorers: Jarid Bechen
8, Brady Tiede 4, Dillon Moore 4. They lost to Viborg/Hurley, 20-23. Leading
scorers: Dillon Moore 8, Brady Tiede 4. They beat Howard, 37-10. Leading
scorers: Cole Wormstadt 8, Rex Schlicht 7, Austin Ball 5, Jastyn Ford 5.

TODAY - MONDAY:
There are double-header basketball games at Sanborn
Central against Howard today. Games start at 4:00 p.m. in the following order:
Girls JV, Boys JV, Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity.
Booster Club
concession stand workers for tonight are Wes and Sherri Stekl, Delmas and Tobi
Duffel, and Roger and Cheryl Schmit.
The Pep Band is
scheduled to play tonight. They need to be present and ready to play by 5:45
p.m.
The Junior Class
will be selling $5 plates of Christmas goodies during the games, as well as
auctioning off the 2 front parking spots for the basketball season for fundraisers.
Help out the
Jerauld/Sanborn County Relay for Life. Alec Schmidt, a Senior at SCHS, is
holding a raffle drawing for a coffee tumbler and a very nice blanket. Raffle
prices are 1 for $2 or 3 for $5. Winners will be announced at the basketball games
tonight at Sanborn Central. You do not need to be present to win. Raffle
tickets may be purchased in advance or at the games. Tickets are available at

WEDNESDAY:
Wednesday is Orange Semester Test Day for high school
students. They only need to be at school for the classes that they have tests
in, or if their instructor asks that they be there. High School students need
to sign in and out, and should be in the High School Lab if they are at school
but not testing.

The JH girls and boys have basketball games at Ethan on
Thursday. The girls will play at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys.

Friday is the end of the 2nd Quarter and the 1st
Semester.
School will dismiss early at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
Breakfast will be served but not lunch.

CHRISTMAS BREAK EVENTS:
No school from Monday, December 24 through Wednesday,
January 2 (teachers have an in-service that day). School for students resumes
on Thursday, January 3.
There is a Boys C Basketball Tournament on Friday,
December 28 at McCook-Montrose in Salem.
The Blackhawks have a big day of basketball games against
Hitchcock/Tulare at HITCHCOCK on Saturday, December 29. Games start at 11:00
a.m. in the following order: JH Girls, JH Boys, JV Girls, JV Boys, Varsity
Girls (approx. 3:00 p.m.), and Varsity Boys (approx. 4:30 p.m.). Game times are
approximate.
Each school will transport their JH girls and JH boys to
Hitchcock. The charter bus will pick up JV and Varsity girls and boys at
Sanborn Central at 11:00 a.m. and Woonsocket at 11:15 a.m.
The boys have basketball games against Andes Central on
Thursday, January 3 at Woonsocket. The JV boys will play at 6:30 p.m. followed
by the Varsity boys.

REMINDERS:
Logan Moody is conducting a food drive at Sanborn Central
as part of her Senior Project, “What Can I Do to Help.” Students are welcome to
bring non-perishable food items to the school between Wednesday, December 5 and
Friday, December 21. The items will then be donated to the Sanborn County Food
Pantry. Donations by elementary students should be given to the classroom
teacher. Middle School and High School students will drop off as listed: 6th –
Mrs. Swenson; 7th – Mrs. Farmer; 8th – Mrs. Sanderson; 9th – Mr. Danek; 10th –
Mr. Flatten; 11th – Mrs. Moody; 12th – Mrs. Whitney. A prize will be awarded to
the class with the most donations – for one week classes will be in the lunch
line according to the total size of their donation (the class with the most
will be served first, second largest served next, and on down the line).
