Middle School Updates
Notes from Mrs. Gassman and the PBIS Team
Dear 11th Grade Parents and Guardians,On Wednesday, November 5th, all juniors will be taking the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) during the school day. Testing will take place in my room at the start of the day and will take up to two hours to complete.
The ASVAB is a career exploration assessment that measures students’ strengths and abilities in a variety of academic and technical areas. While it is often associated with military entrance qualification, it is also a valuable career planning tool for all students - helping them discover their strengths and connect them with potential career paths. For students who are interested in joining the military, the ASVAB score can be used for military entrance qualification and to determine benefits.
Earlier today, I met with the juniors to explain what the ASVAB is and to go over sample questions, so they know what to expect on test day.
Please note that the ASVAB does not affect grades, GPA, or class standing, and results are not reported on transcripts.
At a later date following the exam, I will meet with students to review their individual results and explore how their skills and interests align with possible career options.
The students do not need to study or prepare for the ASVAB. I told them today, just get a good night of sleep Tuesday night!
Thank you!
Mrs. Gassman
