Tuesday, January 23 2024-Blue Day

Tomorrow is a no school day there will be a visitation for Gary Goudy on Tuesday, January 23rd, from 5-7 PM at Bittner's Funeral Home in Mitchell. The funeral will take place Wednesday, January 24th, at 10:30 at Bittner's as well. To allow every staff member and student the opportunity to attend Gary Goudy's funeral, we will not have school at Sanborn Central on Wednesday, January 24th, but teachers will report at 7:45 AM. The colony will have school during normal hours on Wednesday. Evening activities/practices will go on as scheduled. This NO SCHOOL day is an orange day.  This means Thursday is a blue day and Seniors are required to attend. Thank you for your understanding.

When you have a great one on your team it makes it just a little bit harder to say goodbye! Although the end of the road ended abruptly Gary Goudy made that little dash in between a great adventure. From the early years at Ruskin Dance Hall to this years North Artesian bus route that he called "Home", he was the absolute best at life in general. Gary was a witty kinda guy who followed the weather closer than Phil Shrek, and cared for his cats, birds, and squirrels diligently.  He was a walking plot map for any route we threw at him, and was our handyman in the bus barn working on those big yellow hunks of steel. May your napping chair in heaven be just a luxurious as the one earth provided for you. Gary Goudy's welcoming spirit will be missed by staff and students alike here at Sanborn Central.https://bittnerfuneralchapel.com/gary_goudy
Please help out the family of Gary Goudy as we come together and raise money for his final expenses and medical bills. Penny War Flier Today starts the action with the final day ending on February 2nd.  We challenge you to match 10% of the total. If you have questions please e-mail megan.wilson@k12.sd.us or david.steele@k12.sd.us.
