Attention Blackhawk Community!! As you may have heard, Gary Goudy suffered a heart attack late last week and is still in the Avera Heart Hospital. As Gary works on his recovery, the high school and middle school student councils will be running a penny war starting next week to help offset some of the medical bills and costs associated with Gary’s care and recovery.
Gary has been an employee of the Sanborn Central School District for 17 years. Prior to the athletic cooperative with Woonsocket, Gary was not only a route driver, but also drove students to every athletic event in which they participated as the school’s activity’s driver. For the last nine years, Gary has served as a route driver and transportation supervisor at Sanborn Central.
The Penny war will take place from January 22nd- February 2nd. The student councils are also asking that any local businesses or individuals that would be willing to match a portion of the funds raised please contact Mrs. Wilson or Mr. Steele at 605-495-4183 or email at Megan.Wilson@k12.sd.us or David.Steele@k12.sd.us
For example, if $2,000 is raised throughout the penny war and a local business or individual would like to match 10% of that total, their donation contribution would be $200.00.
ANY BUSINESSESS OR INDIVIDUALS THAT WOULD SIMPLY LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE ANY AMOUNT TO THIS FUNDRAISER MAY DROP OFF DONATIONS AT THE SCHOOL. EVERY DONATION IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
