Elementary RC will go home tomorrow. HS/MS grades are due today.

Today's the day! Cheer the Blackhawk football team on to a victory. Kickoff will be at Wessington Springs at 5PM vs. Rapid City Christian. The boys will dismiss at 2:15.
No cooking necessary this afternoon, as the Spartan Boosters are doing the dishes. They are offering up a pork loin sandwich, chips, cookie and water for $7 a plate and $3 for an additional burger. Serving starts at 4PM

On Monday, Oct 23rd the VB ladies will have 9-12 practice at 8AM at SC.

Today is the PBIS Celebration! It's fun and games this afternoon for a quarter of success in utilizing this new system that rewards our students for the amazing people that they choose to be! Due to the football team leaving early the party will start at 1:30 and go until 3:00. The all school assembly will start at 3:00 today for this weeks PRIDE WINNERS.

Students that want to wear a hat on Friday, October 20th please pay Mrs. Vermeulen $1. Proceeds will go to the MS Student Council.

Saturday, October 28th from 4-6 the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA will be hosting a Halloween Festival. Cost is $5 per family.  https://5il.co/26cxu


On November 13th (Orange Day) all 7-12 students will be attending a distracted driving presentation in Woony from 9-10 AM. All students and teachers will load the buses at 8:35 AM for the presentation and will return directly after the presentation.

The Blackhawk Dig Pink Night will be held on October 24th. Classrooms will be sponsoring gift baskets for the silent auction. Middle School monetary donations may be given to Mrs. VanWinkle by Friday, October 20th.

Friday, October 20 HS Practice @ Woonsocket – 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Thursday, at 5PM the football team will be back to take care of some unfinished business as they are given a second chance to take down Rapid City Christian. You can tune into the Wessington Springs livestream, but it's going to be a great night to cheer on our Blackhawks in person with a beautiful fall day predicted. Help our boys keep the momentum rolling forward and give them the cheer squad they deserve. SEE YOU ON THURSDAY IN WESSINGTON SPRINGS.

The practice field is to soft to practice on with the recent rain, all practices this week will be in Wessington Springs.  

The Dig Pink game will be at SC on Tuesday, October 24th starting at 4:00. The line-up starts with 7th grade followed by 8th, C, JH, and V. Pep Band will be playing for Dig Pink Night.  Please be here by 6:30.  Wear either your "Dig Pink" shirt or Band shirt or Black Hawk gear.

The JH Volleyball Tournament in Iroquois is Saturday, October 21st. The SCW ladies will take the court at 9:45 vs. Wolsey/Wessington.

Oct. 26-29: All-State Chorus in Rapid City (Concert on Oct. 28)

The 7/8 Girls Basketball team will be participating in the Hanson Early Bird Tournament again this year. It is on Saturday, November 11 at Hanson School.  We will be setting up a practice schedule once their volleyball season is completed.

Congratulations to the following students who are selected to participate in the Region Junior High Music Festival on November 14th in Platte:

With it being an orange day today there weren't many seniors that attended the ACT prep session today. If seniors would like to take the ACT science practice test Monday morning at 7:45 AM, I would be happy to sit in the room with them and start the timer.

A few of our area students from Sanborn/Jerauld County are attending National 4-H congress in Atlanta, Georgia in November. Students attending are Aubrey Senska, Teagen Moody, Tori Hoffman, Miley Adams, Delaney Zoss, Cannon Zoss, Raylee Fagerhaug and Abby Kolousek.
Come help them support their trip on October 21st at the Letcher Community Center from 5:30-8:30 with a free will donation supper. Fun filled night with silent and live auction items. Free popcorn and fun! A community Pheasant Opener Breakfast will also be served Sunday morning from 8:30-12:30 at Letcher Community Center. Bring your hunters!

The back 9 is hosting a High School Golf Winter League this year. It is $65 a person or $130 for a team and is in a best ball format for grades 8-12th.
