Dear parents and students,
Woonsocket and Sanborn Central will be holding driver’s education classes together again this year. The instructor is Mitch Korbel. Your cost for the program will be $250 per student: payable to the Woonsocket School District upon registration. There are a limited number of spots and priority will be given to the oldest students ( from our districts –SC/W) who submit their form by the deadline. (April 28). The fee includes the classroom session and behind the wheel. (you will be contacted /informed if you DID NOT receive a place in the class based off of number of spaces available)

Extra Curricular
The track meet today, and April 6th have been cancelled.

There will be no Golf practice today. 4/4/2023

The junior high track meet at Wessington Springs on Monday, April 10 has been cancelled.

The De Smet Invitational Track meet scheduled for April 13 has been cancelled. 2024 date for our meet will be April 11 at 11:00. 

The Varsity Golf meet for Monday, April 10^th has been postponed. The new date is Monday, April 24th.

For the Week of April 3rd

Community

The Artesian 1st Lutheran Ladies will have their annual Easter bake sale on Saturday, April 8th from 9:30-11:00 am at the Artesian Community Center. Coffee, juice, and rolls will be served. The ladies are also having a quilt raffle. Tickets will be sold in advance, and will also be available the day of the bake sale. The winner of the quilt will be drawn at the end of the bake sale. This event is held in conjunction with the CIA Easter Egg Hunt

Letcher Community Church invites you to attend an Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 at 1:00.  Everyone is welcome!

Letcher Community Church will host Easter Breakfast of fresh cinnamon rolls, juice and coffee starting at 9:00 on Sunday April 9. Join us for church service at 10:00.  

April is the month of the military child and the VFW Post 2750 Auxiliary in Mitchell has teamed up with Logan Luxury Theaters and Community Sponsors to purchase tickets for our military kids in the area! Tickets (including a small pop and popcorn are for military kids under 18, including current SD National Guard, Active Duty and Veteran's children with a valid Military or VA ID. 

Pick up tickets starting Thursday, March 16th from 5:30-7:30PM and Saturday, March 18th from 12-3PM, then Mon-Fri 5:30-7:30PM and each Saturday, 12-3PM until Fri April 14th at the VFW Post 2750 in Mitchell or until gone.
REMEMBER-PURPLE UP Day in South Dakota is Friday, April 21st 2023, wear support of our military kids!
If you would like to sponsor tickets, monetary donations can be dropped off at the VFW Post 2750 12-8PM daily or call the VFW Auxiliary President, Ruth Ragels at 605-770-2277 to make arrangements. -Thank You Sponsors-

Sophie Kelly is collecting donations as a Letcher Junior Post 93 Legion Auxiliary mission. Please bring your used tennis shoes to the Sanborn Central School to help out Veterans. This will be going on March-May.

Our school year is quickly winding down. We have two Devoted Students planned to end our year. We will have Devoted Students on Monday, April 24th and Monday, May 8th!  We will meet in the Woonsocket commons at 6:00 with supper and a study provided. Any high school student (9th - 12th grade) is welcome to come! Please RSVP at the link below, so we can plan an appropriate amount of food. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there! 🙂
