Wednesday-“Wish Upon a Star Wednesday” Who’s your favorite star?  Who do you admire?  Students will identify their own star.

Thursday: “Thanksgiving Thursday” Why wait until November.  Students will practice their manners-be thankful!  They will also practice whiting thank you notes/letters.

Friday: “Food Drive Friday” Tis the time of the year when the food banks are in need of donations.  Please send 1 box or can of non-perishable food.  You may send this item to school any day this week.  Your donations will be taken to the Sanborn County Food Bank.  A box will be available outside the office and donations from the public will also be accepted.

 We’ll Be Exploring… - Common reactions to grief (you are more normal than you might think) - The “if-only” and “whys” - Tips to start feeling better
If interested in this group, the Systems of Care Coordinator with Dakota Counseling will be in Woonsocket on Wednesday, October 23rd  from 11:30am-1pm in order to help parents and guardians fill out paperwork. A sign-up sheet will also be available in Mrs. Foxley’s office. If additional accommodations need to be made or you are interested in the group but cannot make this time work please contact Heather Folkers at h.folkers@dakotacounseling.net 

 This group will meet on Wednesdays at 1:30pm starting on November 6th, 2019.  There will be a total of 10 sessions with each session lasting an hour.

Sports
The HS football players will have a team meeting on Wednesday at 3:45 pm at Woonsocket school. We ask all HS football players to be there.
JH football players are to work with the coaches at their school to get their equipment handed in. 

 5th & 6th grade girls will also practice in Woonsocket on Friday, October 25th.  FFA will be setting up for their haunted house in the Sanborn Gym on Friday.

TDA's Volleyball game will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 in Woonsocket.  There will only be JV and Varsity game contests starting with the JV at 1:00PM.

We are in need in Halloween decorations for our first annual SCW FFA Community Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 26th. More information to come about the carnival next week!

COMMUNITY
The Artesian American Legion Auxiliary invites you and your family to celebrate Veterans Day dinner. On Sunday November 10, 2019 at12:00 noon at the Artesian Community Center. We will be serving turkey and all the trimmings. To have enough food prepared, for all who plan to attend, please RSVP to Laura Pearson by Monday November 4, 2019 at (605) – 999 – 2139.
The Artesian CIA will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 27 from 3:00-4:00pm in the Artesian Community Center parking lot.  All are welcome to come enjoy some fun and safe trunk or treating. If you are interested in decorating a trunk, come early to get set up and join in on the fun!
