Monday, September 30th at 6:00 PM in the commons there will be an informational meeting for MS students and parents that are interested in attending the Washington DC trip in 2020-21.  This does include 5th graders this school year.

Mark your calendars; SC will be hosting a blood drive Friday, September 13th at the school.  If you are interested in donating please call the school at 495-4183 to reserve a time.  Students 16 and over may also donate with written permission from a parent.  Please visit Mrs. Moody to obtain a form if you are needing parents permission.

*9-12 Mitchell Christian will only be able to play a varsity match and start at 6:30.
*10-10 Tripp/Delmont/Armour can only play 1 junior high match and will start at 4:15
*SCW's JV will play Ethan's JV at Mitchell Christian at 6:30PM on Sept 23 before the Ethan and Mitchell Christian varsity match.   (NOTE:  Mitchell Christian does not have a JV team so SCW is filling in)

Please add to your calendar--------With SDHSAA approval, and the go ahead from our football coaches, a varsity football game has been added to the schedule.  On Oct. 4 (Original Bye Week), the Blackhawk football team will play Lead-Deadwood at Wessington Springs at 3:00PM.    (NOTE: A team on Lead-Deadwood's schedule has dropped the program this season and now they are in need of a game. The 3:00PM start time will allow Lead-Deadwood to get back home earlier)

JH & JV Football Info/Changes/Additions

*The JH team will be going to Kimball on September 12th for a 4:30 pm game.   We will only be taking mainly the ones that play in the first game this coming Monday.    The ones that do not go will be the ones mainly playing in the game at WS on Sept 16. 
*We have added a JH football game.  The game will be September 16 at 4:30 pm in Wessington Springs vs Lower Brule.  This will probably be just one game.
*Also, note of change for JV schedule.   Our JV team will not be going to Redfield on October 3.  
However the JH game that day is still on for a 4:00 pm.

Here is some football information. 
 ·       On Thursday September 12th the JH team will be playing at Kimball.   This game will be at 6:00 pm.
All of the 8th graders and the following 7th graders will be attending:  Peyton Ueker, Cade Olinger, Caleb Kneen, Tyson Eddy, Rylan Grassel. 
The players not going will play in the game on Monday at WS. 
·       The JH Team is going to plan on practices on the following Fridays from 4:00-5:30

·       The Varsity game on Friday is at Stanley County School in Ft. Pierre.   I confirmed with their AD this morning.  
 If any players can help at the youth jamboree on Saturday in WS it would be greatly appreciated.

It is that time of year again to be thinking of 5th/6th Grade Girls and Boys Basketball. We are trying to get an idea of how many players will be going out this year. If your child is interested in playing basketball this year please sign the form and return to the school (Mr. Henriksen at Woonsocket, and Robin Moody at Sanborn Central) by Thursday, September 19th!

Mrs. Foxley's Information
Juniors and Seniors will be attending the DWU College Fair and the MTI Career Expo on Tuesday, September 17. They will need to bring money for lunch. 

Freshmen will be attending Freshmen Impact in Alexandria on Thursday, September 19.  We will leave before school, and a return before route buses run.

Music
Mrs. Easton will be at Sanborn's conferences from 4:45-7:00 next Thursday.  She will be in Woonsocket before that.


Miss. West will be at Sanborn Central from 2-4:30pm and Woonsocket from 4:45-7pm on Thursday, September 19th for parent teacher conferences.

Information on Hunters Safety Course
Dates September 16-17 and 21st
This course is open to any student that will turn 12 years old by December 31, 2019.  Or any one older that has not taken the course.  Student do have to complete the total 10-hour course and pass the test to get their card.
All materials and firearms are furnished.

pre-registration.  This will bring up other area courses in case Sanborn does not work.
Also, at this location is HuntSAFE Independent Study Classes with Mitchell Field day on 9-14-19.

The Letcher Community Church is starting its fall schedule.  Sunday
School will start September 8 at 10:00 for ages 3 - 5th grade.
Confirmation classes for grades 6-8 will start at 10:00, also. Senior
youth for grades 9-12 will start on September 18. Sonshine Club will
resume September 25 at 4:00-5:20 at the church for grades K-5.
