Orange Day

Flu Shot and 3/4^th Basketball forms are due today.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SYDNEY ZELLER AND SPENS SCHLICHT for qualifying for State Cross Country!!!!  The Girls Team placed 5th out of 12 teams and the Boys Team placed 6th out of 14 teams!!  Great job and thanks for your hard work and determination!!!! You’ve made us Blackhawk Proud!

Good Luck to the Lady Blackhawks with their road trip to Kimball/White Lake today.  The bus will leave SC at 3:00.  Games begin at 4:30 with JH/C/JV/V.  KWL is having their Dig Pink Night!!!

Good Luck to the 5/6^th Basketball teams today.  The Boys host MVP in Woonsocket and the Girls travel to the Main Street gym in Mt. Vernon.  All games begin at 6:00pm.

Character Counts Kick Off Week – October 18-24^th!!  Tuesday is Trustworthiness Day – Wear Blue; Wednesday is Respect wear Yellow; Thursday is Responsibility – wear green; Friday is Fairness -   wear Orange; Monday is caring and Citizenship – wear red or purple

There are still a few yards left!  Here’s how it works ~ “The Longest Yard", the juniors are selling yard lines for the Blackhawk Football game on Thursday, Oct. 20^th vs. Hitchcock-Tulare at SC.  For $10, you get a yard line.  If the last play of the first half ends on that yard line, (regardless of what end) you will receive $100!  The juniors will automatically get the 50 yard line but end zone through 49 are available.  If the last play of the half is a touchdown, the end zone will receive the cash, or if a player is tackled at the 21 yard line as time expires, the person with the 21 yard line wins, etc. (Extra Point/2 point conversions will not count as yard lines, but as end zone).​  You can talk to a junior, or email Mrs. Susan Farrell-Poncelet at susan.farrell-poncelet@k12.sd.us to reserve a yard line.  

ACADEMICS

Today is the last day of tutoring before grades are due on the report cards!  All missing work must be turned into your teacher by Tuesday, October 18 at 8:30 in order to receive credit!!!!

ATHLETICS

Wolsey/Wessington will be having a tail gate party Friday prior to the game.

MS Volleyball will practice the 14th - 19th & 20^th.  They are almost done for the year!

On October 17^th the JH football team going to Hanson. Leave WS at 2:45 and pick up players along the way.  Also, the same day the JV team going to Parkston.  Also leave WS at 2:45 and pick up players along the way.  Varsity will have practice at 4:00 pm in Woonsocket that day.

Orders will need to be in the office by noon on Tuesday, October 18th!!!!!

The T-Hug quilters are in need of more cancer related shirts! Please dig through your stash and donate them to this worthy cause! Don't forget that we are always in need of cash donations too. Shirts can be dropped off at Sanborn Central, the Woonsocket school, or contact Mary McKillop Ackman for other drop off points. They don't need to be from this area!
