REMINDERS:
The Huron School Board is offering the movie
"Bully" at no cost to anyone in the Huron area (including the Sanborn
Central School District) on the following dates and times at the Logan Theatre
in Huron: Thursday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 at 12:00
noon. It is free of charge. Parents are encouraged to watch the trailer
on the website (www.thebullyproject.com)
as this is an intense movie and not designed for all children. It is
rated PG13 but parents should be aware that there are some scenes that
could be disturbing. The Huron School Board has paid for these showings
and wants to pack the theatre for both shows. Sanborn Central would like
to thank the Huron School Board for offering our students and parents this
opportunity.
Marla Feistner, County Nurse, would like to recommend the
following article for you to read about a healthy 17 year old that died from
influenza:
The South Dakota
Department of Health will again be offering free seasonal influenza vaccine to
all children 6 months through 18 years of age. A flu clinic for school-age
children will be held at Sanborn Central on Wednesday, October 31 from 7:30 to
10:30 a.m. The state is supplying the vaccine free of charge and there will be
no administration fee at the school-based clinic. If you have any questions,
please contact the Community Health Office at 605-796-4510. Consent forms are
due to the school by Friday, October 26, and can be found in the Flu folder at
the following Sanborn Central Google Drive link:
Sanborn Central
requests that every student 2nd grade and below be accompanies by a parent. If
your child is one who doesn’t like shots, regardless of age, it is suggested
that you accompany them. They need to keep the line running smoothly so that
everyone has a chance to be immunized.
