The Senior Government Class is having a three-party race
for “Governor of Sanborn Central”. The class is attempting to get the entire
school involved. It is hoped that this mock campaign and election will increase
interest in all students in the real upcoming Presidential election. Nick
Miller is the candidate for the Freedom Party, Andrew Duffel is the candidate
for the Civil Party, and Rachelle Moore is the candidate for the Liberty Party.
Teachers at Sanborn Central are the interest groups and they’ve been given
“money” that the candidates’ parties must try to get them to donate for their
campaign to afford political ads, posters, commercial, etc.
Here is a link to last week’s “The Weekly Voter” that
students are able to read about the candidates’ views on certain topics.
Candidates can also reveal their platforms in this newsletter.
