The WWSSC Blackhawks lost their football game on Friday night to
Kimball/White Lake, 16-44. Their next game is Friday night at Mt. Vernon.

REMINDER: 6th grade football
players that want to play basketball are more than welcome to. They will be
allowed to miss football practice on the days that there is basketball.
Due to church activities
starting, there will not be 7/8th volleyball practice on Wednesdays for the
rest of the season.
MISSING: One pompom turned up
missing during/after the game Friday night. They were last seen on the ground
near the bleachers closest to the playground.
Please let the office know if you saw anyone playing with them during
the game or if you know where they are.
A small reward is offered.
The school office has started the
process of going through the forms that needed to be returned on August 22. If
a form is missing, students will be given another one for completion. That
doesn’t necessarily mean that it wasn’t completed. It may never have been in
the packet to begin with, or it may have been misplaced. Any senior with
missing forms will lost privileges.
The South Dakota Department of Education and South Dakota
Parent Information Resource Center/Network (SDPIRC) have put together an
information-packed day for the 5th annual conference for parents in South
Dakota. The conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at the Best
Western Ramkota in Rapid City. Sessions will cover school safety and the
realities of bullying, tips for good nutrition, games and activities for
families to support learning at home, and family financial literacy. The

TUESDAY:
Band lessons start today.
The 5/6th girls and boys have their first basketball
practice today at Woonsocket from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. A bus will be transporting
participants to and from practice.
The JH/JV (no 6th) football teams have games today against
Kimball/White Lake at Woonsocket starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Blackhawks have volleyball games at White Lake today.
The C game starts at 5:15 p.m., the JV game at 6:30, and the Varsity game when
they’re finished. The player bus will leave from Sanborn Central at 3:45 p.m.
Only girls in Grades 8-12 will be attending these games.

WEDNESDAY:
Junior magazine sales are due on Wednesday.
The Josten’s rep will be back at school on Wednesday to
meet with Seniors and Sophomores. Sophomores should bring their completed order
from the Ring Designer found at www.jostens.com
or their packet and a $60 deposit if they’re ordering a ring. Ring Designer
Kits are also available in the school office.
Volleyball practice – Sanborn Central 3:30 – 5:45 p.m.
Football practice (no 6th) – Woonsocket 4:00 – 6:15 p.m.
Cheerleading practice – Sanborn Central 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

THURSDAY:
Eligibility and Homework Club will be calculated on
Thursday.
The 5/6th girls and boys have basketball practice on
Thursday at Sanborn Central from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m.
The Lady Blackhawks have volleyball games on Thursday at
Sanborn Central against Mitchell Christian. JH girls will play at 5:15 p.m., JV
girls at 6:30 p.m., and Varsity girls when they’re finished.
The Pep Band will be playing on Thursday. Students need
to be in the band room by 6:40 p.m. to make sure they have everything ready for
when they start to play.

SATURDAY:
The JH football team (no 6th) will be participating in a
Football Jamboree in Kimball on Saturday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. The

The Lady Blackhawks have a CBH Tournament on Saturday. More information will be available tomorrow.
A Farmer’s Market will be held in Letcher on Saturday at
Rossy Park (one block north of Main Street) from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
