SANBORN CENTRAL e-NEWS
 
The 5/6th Girls and Boys Basketball schedule is now online. There is a printable PDF file on the Athletics page at www.sanborncentral.com, as well as a separate calendar for viewing on that page.
 
The restriction for high school football players has been lifted. They are no longer required to ride the bus to practice (as long as they have their forms turned in).
 
The first eligibility of the year will be calculated next Thursday, August 30. Homework Club will meet for the first time on Tuesday, September 4.
 
Q107 Radio will be announcing the football game on Friday, August 31 when the Blackhawks play Kimball/White Lake at Sanborn Central.
 
Schedule update: The football game at Sunshine Bible on Friday, September 21 will start at 2:00 p.m.
 
The Orthopedic Institute in Sioux Falls is offering a Saturday morning Sports Injury Clinic at their offices at 810 E. 23rd St. in Sioux Falls. The clinic will run from August 25 through October 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Patients should check in on the third floor between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. unless prior arrangements are made. A full staff, including a Sports Medicine Physician, will be on hand to assess injuries. FRIDAY:
 
Friday is School Pride Day. Everyone should dress accordingly.
 
The first football game of the season will be held on Friday night at Woonsocket against Hanson starting at 7:00 p.m. (This game was originally scheduled to be played at Sanborn Central and may still appear that way on some schedules.)
 
There is no tailgate supper as is being advertised on the radio. They will just be serving regular concessions at the football game this week.
 
Volleyball practice – Woonsocket 3:30 – 5:45 p.m.
 
KOOL98 Radio will be broadcasting Friday night’s football game at Woonsocket against Hanson, as well as doing a live broadcast. This summer KMIT and KOOL98 Radio are giving away a Chrysler Sebring, 2 airline tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S., and $1,000 worth of indoor/outdoor furniture for their “Super Summer Giveaway Promotion.” Spectators at Friday night’s game will have the opportunity to sign up to qualify to win one of these great prizes and there will be a separate sign up box for the seniors to register.

A Farmer’s Market will be held in Letcher on Saturday at Rossy Park (one block north of Main Street) from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

There will be a JV football game on Monday at Sanborn Central against Hanson starting at 5:00 p.m.

The Jostens representative will be at the school on Tuesday at 12:45 to meet with Seniors, then Sophomores.
 
The Lady Blackhawks have volleyball games against Hanson at Woonsocket on Tuesday. The JH girls will play at 5:15 p.m., the JV girls at 6:30 p.m. and the Varsity girls when they’re finished. The player bus will leave from Sanborn Central at 4:30 p.m.
 
Tuesday is Volleyball Parents Night. Players and their parents will be introduced right after the finish of the JV game.

Mr. McCain is looking for volunteers to help at the football game at Sanborn Central on Friday night, August 31. They need 3 chain gang people, 2 clock keepers and an announcer.
