SANBORN CENTRAL e-NEWS
Welcome to the new Middle School and High School students
this year: Steven Renberg – 6th; Haley Renberg and Quentin Schmidt – 7th; and
Kelsey Henson – 11th.
Tutoring will begin today in Mrs. Chance’s room and will
last from 3:15 – 5:15 p.m. This is a great chance for students of all ages to
get some extra help. Tutoring will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, unless
there is an early dismissal.
Effective immediately, all High School football players will
ride the bus to Woonsocket.
Mt. Vernon is having football for 3rd and 4th grades, as
well as 5th and 6th grades. Below are links for more information.

Band students should have their instruments to school by
today.

All packet forms are due back at the school no later than

FFA Officers will have a meeting on Wednesday morning at

There will be a Community Bridal Shower for Kristen Klinkner

FRIDAY:
The first football game of the season will be held on Friday
night at Woonsocket against Hanson starting at 7:00 p.m. (This game was
originally scheduled to be played at Sanborn Central and may still appear that
way on some schedules.)
Volleyball practice – Woonsocket 3:30 – 5:45 p.m.
KOOL98 Radio will be broadcasting Friday night’s football
game at Woonsocket against Hanson, as well as doing a live broadcast. This
summer KMIT and KOOL98 Radio are giving away a Chrysler Seabring, 2 airline
tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S., and $1,000 worth of indoor/outdoor
furniture for their “Super Summer Giveaway Promotion.” Spectators at Friday
night’s game will have the opportunity to sign up to qualify to win one of
these great prizes and there will be a separate sign up box for the seniors to
register.

A Farmer’s Market will be held in Letcher on Saturday at
Rossy Park (one block north of Main Street) from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Mr. McCain is looking for volunteers to help at the football
game at Sanborn Central on Friday night, August 31. They need 3 chain gang
people, 2 clock keepers and an announcer. All volunteers would be admitted for

The concession stand is in need of 2 JV parents or any other
2 people to work in the concession stand on Monday, August 27 for a JV football
game starting at 5:00 p.m. If you can help, please email Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us.
Blackhawk activity passes for home games are available for
sale. A family pass is $80.00, adult pass $40.00, and a student pass is $20.00.
Senior citizens are able to attend home games for free. (Regular gate admission
without a pass is Students K-12 $2.00 and adult $4.00. Cost for a double header
is student $3.00 and adult $5.00).
The large Athletic Calendars were available at the Back to
School Night for families to pick up. If your family didn't pick one up,
and would like one (or know of someone who would like one) please let the
office know by Friday, August 24, 2012. Be sure to thank the many
sponsors who provide the school with these calendars.
