February 15, 2017

Wednesday – February 15, 2017
Orange Day
Pennies, Pennies, Pennies everywhere!!!  SC/W FFA will be conducting a penny war for students, PK – 8th grades, during FFA Week, February 21st – 24th.  The winning class will get to eat with the FFA officers.  Remember, pennies count for your class and silvers count against a class.  All funds raised will go to Paisley King.  Start saving up your pennies and your silver students!

Girls practice at SC today and Boys at Woonsocket.

WWTS meets in Artesian today.

Students will be given lists of missing assignments after noon today.  All assignments must be completed and turned in tomorrow morning (allowing teacher’s time to update their grade books).  A new list will be compiled prior to 1:00pm. If you are on that list or have a failing grade, you will be required to be here Friday morning from 8:00am until 11:00am.

Reminder: Students should not be in any classroom without permission from that staff member.  If you come early or stay late – report to the office!

Team Paisley Bracelets for sale in the office - $5 - youth and adult sizes available.

We are seeing more and more cases of influenza, pneumonia, respiratory infections, strep etc.  Please do not hesitate to stay home if you are not feeling well and see a doctor!
Influenza (also known as the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by flu viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The flu is different from a cold. The flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
Fever* or feeling feverish/chills
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose
Muscle or body aches
Headaches
Fatigue (tiredness)
Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
* It's important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.

And most importantly (see the linked brochure): When can my child go back to school after having the flu? Keep your child home from school, day care or camp for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone. (The fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) A fever is defined as 100°F (37.8°C) or higher.
