SANBORN CENTRAL e-NEWS
 
Sanborn Central welcomes Jayden Woldt to the Preschool class.
 
A special thanks to the Rebel Booster Club and the Class of 2013 for welcoming the new students to school on Friday.
 
The Blackhawks lost their football game on Friday night to Hanson, 14-22. The game was tied when Hanson scored a touchdown with only 39 seconds left. Stats include: Todd Stekl – 14 of 21 passing for 234 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions; Davion Brooks – 6 catches for 129 yards; Trevor Easton – 13 carries for 43 yards rushing; Braden Jones and Austin Messmer had 11 tackles each.
 
Give away: A pair of size 3 Under Armour cleats, barely used, to give away. These would be good for soccer or football. Contact Mary for more information.

TODAY (MONDAY):
 
There will be a JV football game today at Sanborn Central against Hanson starting at 5:00 p.m.
 
JH Football practice – Woonsocket  4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
 
HS Football practice – Sanborn Central – 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
 
Volleyball practice – Woonsocket 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. (team dinner)
 
Cheerleading practice – Woonsocket – 5:45 – 7:00 p.m.

TUESDAY:
 
The Jostens representative will be at the school on Tuesday at 12:45 to meet with Seniors, then Sophomores.
 
High school students with Ag Class on Tuesday need to come to school prepared to paint the bleachers.
 
The Lady Blackhawks have volleyball games against Hanson at Woonsocket on Tuesday. The C girls will play at 5:15 p.m., the JV girls at 6:30 p.m. and the Varsity girls when they’re finished. The player bus will leave from Sanborn Central at 4:30 p.m.
 
Tuesday is Volleyball Parents Night. Players and their parents will be introduced right after the finish of the JV game.

Cheerleading practice – Woonsocket 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Thursday is School Pride Day. Everyone should dress accordingly.
 
The first eligibility and Homework Club of the school year will be calculated on Thursday.
 
The JH football players will have a team scrimmage on Thursday in Woonsocket starting at 5:30 p.m.
 
The Lady Blackhawks have volleyball games against Ethan at Sanborn Central on Thursday. The JH girls will start at 5:15 p.m., the JV girls at 6:30 p.m. and the Varsity girls around 8:00 p.m.
 
Rebel Booster Club concession stand workers for Thursday are Kev and Lynette Kingsbury, Greg and Darcy Feiner, and Tracey Steele.

No school on Friday.
 
No volleyball practice on Friday.
 
Sanborn Central’s FFA will be hosting a Tailgate supper on Friday night starting at 6:00 p.m.
 
Q107 Radio will be broadcasting Friday night’s game.
 
It’s Parents Night for all football players on Friday night. Team members and their parents will be introduced before the start of the game at approximately 6:45 p.m.
 
The WWSSC Blackhawks play football against Kimball/White Lake on Friday night at Sanborn Central starting at 7:00 p.m.
 
Booster Club concession stand workers for Friday night are Barry and Shelly Selland, Nick and Wynette Vorhees, and Bob and Brenda Schmit.
 
Sanborn Central football parents will be hosting a supper for the WWSSC football players following the game.

REMINDERS:
 
Tim McCain is still looking for one more volunteer to be on the chain gang for the football game at Sanborn Central on Friday night, August 31. If you can help, please contact Tim at tim.mccain@k12.sd.us or 605-495-4183.
 
The concession stand is in need of 2 JV parents or any other 2 people to work in the concession stand on Monday, August 27 for a JV football game starting at 5:00 p.m. If you can help, please email Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us.
 
The Rebel Booster Club is managing the concession stand again this year. Parents are asked to help out by working when they are scheduled. If you are unable to work on your scheduled day, please find a replacement. Also, please notify Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us of any changes so the schedule can be updated.
