A note from our powerlifting coach Rickey Nelsen. All powerlifters did very well and hit personal best on Saturday. He was very proud of them. Kenzie got a 5th place metal.
Mr. Welch reports that the FFA CD kids did well at yesterday's event and everyone placed in the top 10.
Both the boys and girls basketball players will dismiss at 3:00 today.

Due to today's weather the boys will play at Thursday at 5:00 in Woonsocket vs. Colman-Egan for the first Round Region game.
The girls will play at the Corn Palace on Thursday vs. number 11 Corsica-Stickney at 7:45 for a chance to compete in the State Tournament! Best of luck to our Blackhawk ladies!
There will be a pep rally on Thursday at 8:30AM for the Girls SoDak 16 game in the Woonsocket Gym.
The bus will depart at 4:30PM from Woonsocket. Have Shoot a round at SC and depart at 5:15PM to go to the corn palace.
The Wellness Committee challenges you to get up and get a move. March is a fantastic time to utilize the outdoors and try a new activity! Today we ask you to "Try a new sport or activity for 30 minutes." Who knows maybe it will be an enjoyable past time:) Here are more ideas for the week.
Tuesday-30 Minutes of a team sport or group exercise
Wednesday-Rest day or a light 20 minute walk
Thursday-Drink 8 (8 oz) glasses of water
Friday-eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
Saturday-Try a Healthy recipe
Sunday-30 minutes of stretching or yoga
In celebration of PBIS we will highlight the success of staff and students on Friday, March 7th with a movie in the gym starting at 11:45. The kitchen ladies will make a sack lunch for all PreK-12th grade students, including an Uncrustable PB&J sandwich, carrots, apple wedges, string cheese, and capri suns. Students will still have the option to get a milk if they would like one. The PBIS team members will have the sack lunches on a cart and will pass out the lunches to students before the movie begins.
No School on Thursday March 20th or Friday, March 21st.

With "Our Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Camps" students can take charge of their future and have a blast doing it. Incoming 7th and 8th graders can join our free, five-day career camp this summer. They’ll explore exciting careers, meet professionals and dive into hands-on activities that unleash creativity and ignite passion. With more camps than ever, there’s more reason to join.

Find the application form here. Each camp will accept roughly 100 participants. The deadline to apply is March 31. Students are expected to be notified of acceptance via email by the middle to end of April 2025. If availability is limited at a particular site, preference will be given to students from school districts categorized as Title I or as having high absenteeism during COVID.
The Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Summer Camps are a partnership of the South Dakota Board of Regents, South Dakota Technical Colleges, South Dakota businesses and industry, and the South Dakota Department of Education (DOE). The camps are funded with federal dollars available to DOE through the American Rescue Plan Act.
