Tuesday, October 1st 2024-Orange Day

The VB and GB teams will be having a free will donation pulled pork nacho or sandwich and chips supper at Tuesday’s VB matches v SC/W in the east wing of that auditorium beginning at 5:00.

Reminder to juniors that the Dakota Tom sandwiches will be arriving on Thursday. Please bring a cooler to school or to the game for pick up of the sandwiches. There will NOT be space to store them at the school.

Flu vaccines will be offered for students, staff and parents on Wednesday, October 16th by the Horizon Health Woonsocket Staff from 7:30-9:00. Forms will go home with children. Please return them is you would like to receive a flu vaccine.

Lunchroom News: 

Let' Talk about OVS at Lunch

At lunch, schools must offer students all five required food components in at least the minimum required amounts. The components at lunch are: meats/meat alternates; grains; fruit; vegetables; and fluid milk. Under OVS, a student must take at least three components in the required serving sizes. One selection must be at least ½ cup from either the fruit or vegetable component. At Sanborn Central, we follow OVS throughout the entire school.

Offer vs. Serve Tip Sheet

Sanborn Central is seeking a responsible Lunchroom Substitute to ensure smooth lunchroom operations and provide a positive dining experience for students. Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting regular staff. Infinite Campus parent and student portal-MS and HS parent and students that do not have  a portal through infinite campus please talk to Laura in the office. This portal is a helpful tool to allow you to follow along with school year progress from grades, attendance, assignments and more!

Extra Curricular

We will play the junior high volleyball match on Oct. 7^th at Sanborn Central with the 7^th graders starting at 4:00 and the 8^th graders at 5:00-Therefore HS VB practice will be at Woonsocket.

We will not have a volleyball match for 7th/8^th grade when we play Iroquois/Lake Preston on Oct. 15^th as they have a music festival that day.  The JV game will begin at 6:15 followed by the varsity game.

Chorus/Band

Friday, October 4, 2024 the Marching Band will be going to Chester for the Lake Area Festival of Bands!  We will be leaving at 8:15 and be returning by end of day.   The following students will be going: HS: Sean Bitterman Ledoux Bracha (will be returning early to ride with the football team) Jason Moran Evie Olson Temperance Salathe Westen White  8th Grade: Brooklyn Larson Chloe Salathe 7th Grade:  Kaylee Adams Kelly Wilson These students will also be going for a joint MB practice on Thursday Oct. 3 to Woonsocket at 10:40 returning at 12:15.  They will eat lunch upon returning to school.   Thank you for helping out with this!  It has been a fun first marching band season back!   October 9  USD All-State Chorus Workshop The following students will be attending the USD All-State Chorus workshop on October 9th: Miley, Aubrey, Parker, Evan, McKenzie, Chloe, Madi, Ledoux, and Westen. The bus will leave Woonsocket at 6:15 am. The bus will leave Sanborn Central at 6:30 am. Return time is approximately 5:30 pm.
