Tuesday, March 21st-Orange Day

It is our honor to report that Mrs. Megan Wilson, HS Math teacher, has been selected as a State-Level finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Mrs. Wilson becomes a candidate for the National Presidential Award. A formal announcement will be forthcoming from the SD PAEMST. Great Job Mrs. Wilson!

On April 14th there will be no preschool. Current preschool students will be screened to assess progress. Letters will be sent soon to current parents containing a scheduled time.

On April 28th a "Meet and Greet" for incoming 23-24 preschool parents and students will be held. Letters containing a scheduled time will be sent. The current preschool students who come to school on Friday's will still have school.

Track practices will be held at Woony unless announced differently. All practices will be done between 4:45-5:00. Athletes will be bussed to each school and back.

Mrs. Selland will be here tomorrow, please bring your instrument.

Our deepest sympathy's go out to the Pollard family is the loss of their son Mahlon. Attached is the obituary for Mahlon 

The funeral is today at the United Methodist Church in Mitchell at 10:30 AM.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mrs. Vermeulen in the loss of her aunt Janice Ebersdorfer. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church; burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Parkston. April 28th will be a make up day for Thursday's snow day. It will no longer be an Extra Help Day. We will still have the pre-school meet and greet on this day and if your child attends pre-school on Friday's they are still asked to come to school.

Save the date-Sanborn Central's Spring Concert will be held April 27th at 7PM, Prom will take place on Saturday, April 22nd, Awards Night will be on May 8th and Graduation on May 13th.

The call to Freedom Presentation will be held in the SC Gym for grades 9-12 (12:30-1:30) and grades 7-8 (1:30-2:30) on Wednesday, March 22nd.

Upcoming Visits:
On Wednesday, March 23 Sean Gilbert from WyoTech will be coming to our school to talk to prospective juniors and seniors at 2:00 PM in the Middle School LabWyoTech, formerly known as Wyoming Technical Institute, is a technical college founded in Laramie, Wyoming. WyoTech provides training programs that prepare students for careers as technicians in the automotive and diesel industry.
On Tuesday, March 29 at 2:00 PM Mark Van dyke from CHS in Mitchell will be coming to talk to juniors and seniors about opportunities for working at CHS and scholarship opportunities.
