We wanted to reach out to the community regarding the football field.  In an effort to improve field conditions for the 2023 football season we are planning to work on improving field conditions this fall and stay off of the field for the rest of the year to hopefully help the grass re-establish.  More details can be found in the synopsis from last night's (September 12) school board meeting found on the district's website (www.sanborncentral.com).  If you have any thoughts or questions, please feel free to reach out to Superintendent Justin Siemsen (justin.siemsen@k12.sd.us) or Athletic Director Tim McCain (tim.meccain@k12.sd.us)

Notes from Ms. Amundson
FAFSA Night 2022 Ms. Fisher and I, along with Megan Huber from the Mitchell Technical College Financial Aid Department, are hosting a FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) night on Monday, October 3rd at 5:30 pm at Sanborn Central school in the Middle School Lab. The FAFSA is the form that students fill out to apply for grants and loans to help pay for tuition and fees when attending college. Colleges typically require the FAFSA form to be completed in order to determine a student's federal aid eligibility. Additionally, if applying for the Build Dakota Scholarship it is a requirement to have the FAFSA completed.

All seniors from Sanborn Central and Woonsocket, along with their parents/guardians, are invited to attend this event. This event will consist of explaining the step-by-step process to completing the FAFSA for any college or technical school as well as other information for paying for college.  Although we do not fill out the FAFSA at the event, you will receive detailed instructions for when/if you decide to fill out the form at home. The FAFSA opens up on October 1st and is typically open until the end of June.

If you are unable to attend the FAFSA night but would still like instructions regarding how to fill out the FAFSA, please email me at Logan.Amundson@k12.sd.us or call me at 605-495-4183.

Thank you and I hope to see you there!
